FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF CHALLENGES

the-start-of-global-challen.jpgThe fun and games started when the five Global Challenge X teams were sent up from Pretoria to Zambia in a challenge.  It was a tough one to start with and I must admit that I was a little concerned about this but luckily I had great co-workers to make sure I don’t feel too sorry for the team and do send them off.

Are we there yet?

Dakhla the last town heading south in the Western Sahara that has something to offer. From there onwards it tough, the buses or any form of formal transport stops there. Then it is another +-350km to the border a few kilometers of no mans land that looks like a scene from a Mad Max Movie, and then the Mauritania's border post. Not quite the Sunday afternoon hang out spot.   From Dakhla the only form of transport is a lift (if you are prepared to wait a few days i guess) or traders vans which have space for 1 or...

Oh, how the 'mighty' falls?

Just to apologize, the title should've been - "O, how the 'mighty' have fallen, falls and still will fall." The mindset I have about myself can many times distort reality. This mighty one, who can do so much and accomplish even more. But these days I am realizing my thought pattern is very frayed.   So I've heard that we can be mighty when Jesus works through us (if we allow Him to work through us). And it makes sense, it really does. Maybe you're even getting an audible deja vu now.   I think my question is: How deep...

New and improved

New and improved
Guatemala had a great impact on the orange team. This month was an emotional roller coaster, with dark and scary downs and highs on which one can catch flight. Individually there is not a single one of us that was left unchanged...whether it had been made new, or just improved on. God came and changed hearts, minds and attitudes. He restored relationships and taught us the value of unity in a team. Our team leader carried us through this time with constant prayers and passed her test on how to handle difficult situations with  love and grace with flying colors!...

My call to Maturity

We become like the one we worship...   As I journey through the world, there is a lot of things surfacing in my heart that is revealed to be selfishness in my relationship with the Lord. I come to find that I should not serve God because it is good for me, but because He is worthy to be served! I really want the Lord to work in my life, but I'm not so keen to DIE in myself, laying down my right, my time, my relationships, my possessions, my family, my future, my ambition. And if I neglect to...

Ephesus

Ephesus
The Lime Teams travels have led them to a place where Paul spend 3 years of his ministry.  This city has been rebuild three times but we were surrounded with the after picture of history unfolding infront of our eyes.  Where once a cıty stood we only see rocks and ruins.  Let me take you on this journey with us:            The Great Theater Infront of the Theatre we see a street that in the past use to strech to the sea shore.  It's hard to imagine the sea being here because when you look around you there is no sign of the...

A Bit late

A Bit late
This was one of the best weeks. Let me start at the beginning at the prayer walk. We went on some prayer walks in Varanasi. Jeremy and I walked together, and before we started praying and asked God to show us where he wanted us to pray and for what, God gave Jeremy a picture of stairs and me a picture of a monkey god, and a man with a monkey sitting in the street [we saw him the earlier the day so we knew where he was] and a picture of a peace of red clothing with golden writing...

LAOS - LUKE 10 - RED TEAM

Lize, Marykee, Tiaan, Ryno and i went to Laos together.  Before we started, we received scripture about patiently waiting on the Lord.  Which is exactly what happened.   For 3 days we stayed in a park beside the Mekong River, just sitting and waiting and praying.  But because of our Father’s goodness and faithfulness , the story doesn’t end there.         On the third day things began to happen. Through meeting a guy and helping him fix someone’s air conditioner  in some  house, we were led to find the christians. I never liked  christians so...
