Columbia: Avos, Coconut Ice Cream and a Fractured Finger

Columbia: Avos, Coconut Ice Cream and a Fractured Finger
After a few weeks in the Caribbean it was time to return to the mainland of South America. Columbia stretches in diversity from high Andes mountain ranges, to coffee farms to tropical beaches. Our time in Columbia was equally diverse as it started with the much anticipated parent visit in Bogota and Cartagena, moving into a backpacker challenge from Cartagena to Santa Marta, ministry in the hot, tropical coastal town of Santa Marta and finishing off in the much cooler Fusagasuga mountain town. The parents visit was a time of exploring, relaxing, story telling and being showered with love, affirmation...

"The conversations we have with God..."

My Beloved Shepherd, my Lord and I - Songs Of Solomon

(Part One)

You know those conversations we have with God; sitting at His feet, listening at His voice...

My highlight in China was a conversation I had with God, reflecting upon myself through His eyes, and also reflecting on His Bride, His Body, and His Church through His eyes!!

WYW Working In Australia...

[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIkFGOQoseQ 400x400] Beeeee beeeee eeeeeeeeee is the usual language that sheep use. I can guarantee you I haven't heard another sound while I was working along side with Darko somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Australia, the motherland of sheep you could say. What a privilege it was, getting up in the morning at 6, driving half an hour to the paddocks unloading this unloading that, fill that , pump that, put that there, get out of there, tag him, run after him... beee beeee after two weeks, we almost sounded like sheep. But there was something more than just working. Seeing sunrise...

No work like the Work of His Hands...Morocco!!

No work like the Work of His Hands...Morocco!!
The greatest treasure of our time in Morocco was prayer. In a country where we are not allowed to do much with regards to our faith we had to acknowledge that God can do so much more through our prayers. 2 Chronicles 7v14 became our daily bread as we interceded for this nation. We saw and heard of the barrenness of the land, the oppression suffered by outcasts and the darkness imprisoning those who are lost and the most appropriate response was to fall to our knees. We acknowledged that He alone is mighty to save. We prayed the Word...

The theory on Patients

Patients, is an on going proses that can never be completed. If a man can wait for 20min before he loses his temper he must be put in situations where he must wait 20min or longer to improve.

There came a time when this man will reach a place where he can wait 2 hours before getting frustrated. This is the point where the next step sucks a bit. In order to improve on waiting more than 2 hours something big needs to happen. Waiting more than 2 hours can change the days planning and get very long.

There was also the idea that, if you are waiting for a long time and loose you temper, you would fail the test but still improved your time limit and the test would be over. Thus the waiting period will be over and that what ever you were waiting for will come to you. with in a very shot time.

This theory was put together in Egypt when Frikkie and I sat next to the road.

Travel Travel Travel

Our journey to Suriname started a long way back in Boa Vista. Little did I know that when we set off in our overly cramped taxi, that we would be starting an epic 2 week journey to the beautiful land of Suriname. The first leg of our travel was done with 2 overly priced taxies that took us across the Brazil/Guyana border. Soon realizing once we entered Guyana that we had illegally arrived in the country we made a quick u-turn back to the border to get our passports stamped. Then for the second time we journeyed back into Guyana,...

There is so much more

There is so much more
Imagine a hiking trip that follows the trail of all the places where Jesus performed his miracles and doing it with 10 other spirit filled people, well this is how the 4 day trip started... We received 25 fish right out of the Sea of Galilee from a local and while we waited for our self-proclaimed fishermen to clean and gut them, we tried to cook beans which ended up taking TWO days to soften. So with fish flopping in packets, beans soaking in a ziplock packet and a rubbish bag over my backbag because of the rain, we began...

Guatemala

Our time in Guatemala is over now and it was just too short for us. We wanted to spend much more time there with the people and getting teachings from Pastor B. Our highlights were definitely the amazing revelations we got from Pastor B’s teachings, we also helped an organization called “Mayan families” with installing fire stoves for the local people.

God's attention to detail

I should probably start of by telling you that we did paint Meagan Fox's house, as I stated on Facebook. But where the idea come from that it is the Meagan fox from Transformers, I am not sure. hahaha oeps.

The life changing part of Canada for me thus far, is when we set of on a semi Luke 10. We are hiking North and with a loop going to the camp where we will be working for a while. In the beginning we got a few easy lifts, It didn't take lang for us to start making good process. Until one stage we waited for a while. I remembered that people have told me stories before, about asking God specific things and make a list of what their needs were. So I wanted to see how much attention to detail God has in my live.

John 14:13 (ESV) Whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, So that the father may be glorified in the Son.
