One day in Tanzania

One day in Tanzania
Smiling Swahili people everywhere, greeting us with "Jambo, kariboo sana!" (Hello, welcome here!), buzzing marketplaces, yummy chapatti and fried banana, tuk-tuk's piled with cashew nuts driving up and down dusty streets, African woman carrying bunches of bananas in big woven baskets on their heads, coconut trees, squatting toilets, mosquito net covered beds, team time at the end of the day on a roof in Dar Es Salam, and the excitement of the start of our journey as tangible as the hot, humid Tanzanian air! Everywhere we went and where we prayed with locals and answered their questions about Jesus, it...

A child's smile!!!

9Walking in the rural area of Krabi (Thailand), Adette and I found a little playgroup. Barefeet we entered the little cresh and statred to play with them. We bought them sweeties, toys and printed out photos of them to keep. "vrot eier" without a word is quite strange, but OH so much fun!!! They opened up really quickly and as if they understood us they gave themselves completely. It is amazing how a smile can reach the deepest corner of your heart and thet from a little Thai child who can't understand you, neither can you understand them. 2Corinthians 9:8...

God is all we long for.......

God is all we long for.......
God is all we long for....   During the month of June we spent the majority of our time in Costa Rica and in Guatemala.  Because of the awesome climate, culture, landscape and people that exist in these regions it has become a huge tourist attraction point.   The Spirit sent us out one day to evangelise to the tourists in the streets of Panajachel – Guatemala.  Another team member and I decided to do a survey on the tourists and ask them a few questions concerning their travels.  We believed that this would help us understand way people travel...

Pledged to God

Predestined for greatness? Who? Me? Ha-ha God.. Nice one. Oh! You're serious?? I still remember how my heart pounded in my chest the first day of training. January 11th. How scared I was. New faces. New people, and still the same old me. Who are you God? Who are you? As training progressed I remember feeling even more foggy. Even more useless. Who am I God??? Who am I????? Training was supposed to be a waist of time, or so I thought. But in the middle of the madness I found how broken I really was. This is me...

Getting to know Gods character and grace

Getting to know Gods character & grace was and still is the most difficult concepts for me to understand, I have to constantly "prove" myself to God thinking that I need to be worthy of His grace and love for me. I am very emotional and overwhelmed in understanding Gods grace. I am trusting God to brake down these walls of insecurities and I am willing to open my heart for Him to work within me. I have realized these past few weeks that spiritual growth can best take place once you are in a vunerable position, once you are...

My country is not a country 2

But I wouldn't want to pick up any rifle!   I don't want to get to that place of no return.   But then again, am I willing to fight for my country to become a country? The right kind of country. A real country.   There are many different ideas of what our country should be like. For some that idea excludes certain people groups in this country. For some certain “nations” within this nation have less of a say.   Others have personal motivations and hidden agendas which they cover with a front of patriotism and ideals....
