The Journey begins!

Hi Everyone! At last the Hidden World 2012 journey has begun for me! I flew to Lima, Peru on 31 March 2012 and from there to Arequipa! We ministered to the people of Peru in the market places, on the street corners and the schools. We worked a lot with the awesome people from Gideons International, spreading the Gospel and giving out New Testaments to the people. I enjoyed the time in the Andes mountains the most! We went back to basics by showering in cold water, eating A LOT of rice and sleeping in halls, the municipality and buses!...

And they said Global is going to be hard...

This is just a short update on what is happening lately. We destroyed a building and cleaned up after words. We are working through Bible studies and tried to apply for Egyptian visas. This is the best part. We went to the driving range and played a few shots. This was so much fun! For the people that don’t know me well. This was my first time I had the chance to take a full swing at a golf ball. We went ice skating and even went to Niagafalls.

A Syrian cry.

A Syrian Cry   Hearts that are broken Hands that are weak. Strength quickly fading,  Emotions running deep Cuts raw and bleeding. Families torn apart Minds trapped in captivity. Darkness fills weary eyes A country robbed.  Stolen From beneath stumbeling feet. Children desiring laughter, Mothers desiring peace. Men given over to failure, Fathers admiting defeat.   A voice echoes in the stillness A cry resounds in the deep Hands and feet are comming They are running fast and free.  To shine light into darkness, Hope into defeat. To remove the truth hindering vail. Let love destroy strongholds  And set captives...

Africa: God's pot of gold...

As our plane touched down in Tanzania I was immediately humbled by the miracle  of God's creation.  From here we departed on the first challenge of our Global adventure. By way of ferry we travelled to Zanzibar, an island of the East African coast. Zanzibar's population is 99 persent Muslim and the spoken language is Swahili.  In spite of the exhausting humid heat and the barriers of language and tradition, the Lord helped us to communicate and reach out to the locals.  Wearing clothes according to Muslim tradition, we enjoyed working alongside people who in spite of their poverty are very...

Lights, Camera, Action!

Lights, Camera, Action!
I don't really know how to start or how to write this blog. How does one explain 6 countries done living by faith for one month just a few sentences... I'll try my best to just give you a glimpse of my experiences of our  time in central America. It's been a complete faith journey the whole time. Have you ever wondered how life would be like if you put your trust 100% in God?    Well... He might just ask you to pioneer Mexico and do your Luke 10 from Cancun, Mexico to Guatemala for 10days. But that...

STEPPING ON TOES

From the moment we tried to cross the border to enter China it was evident that we were stepping at least on someone’s toes…  It felt like everything was against us – as if all the enemy’s forces were joined in an attempt to keep these vessels from spreading God’s light in China.  But our God is an awesome God and His power is far above any forces, principalities or authorities of this world. (written by Sulene on 28 March 2008) It took a good seven hours of interrogation and searching of our entire luggage before we could finally cross over...

Blank Pages

The end of a long chapter written only in black and white which consisted out of routine and complacency suddenly was ended off with a full stop. As I read through the climaxes and highlighted parts in the chapter, I'm amazed at how God fits me into His story for the glory of His kingdom. Not to mention the fact that the greatest author of all times is writing my story, where I know boring is nowhere to be found in His vocabulary, for only excellence is to be expected. As I stare at the blank pages before me I'm...

God is the hope to the hopeless...

During my stay in Jordan I have developed a new outlook on life.  As we disembarked, the name of this capital city of Jordan came to mind.  Amman means steadfastness and perseverance.  Now, looking back on our mission in Jordan, I realise that the people here are blessed with these two noble qualities.    We were welcomed with open arms by our hosts, their friendly hospitality made us feel completely at home. I felt humbled by these people who so unselfishly deliver humanitarian assistance to the hundreds of refugees fleeing from the war-torn Syria.  What a heart-rendering experience to see...

Portugal- Sarah

portugal-egypt_006.jpgSarah Rinn

1/29/08

On January 16th we landed in a country where only 1.6% of the people are evangelical Christian and only a mere 3% of the total population attends any sort of church.  This country is influenced by witch craft, idolatry, and atheism.  Most of the people lack the understanding of a personal relationship with Jesus.  It is a country in one of the most resistant mission fields and on the least evangelized continent.  Needless to say, our week in Portugal was very eye opening!
