This country that you love - a poem

A poem describing how I experienced China:

By Elizma Myburgh

I give to you once more, o Lord
This country that you love
For all their sins you gave your life
For me to give was tough

I do remember when we prayed
We asked but for your way
I do remember my own pride
"I'll do just what you say"

But I fell short, and I lost hope
Seeking comfort of my own
You had to come, remind again
Restore in me your love

Fes, Fes, Fes!

This is it! Nothing is familiar. The honeymoon is over, new country, new people, new everything. But its all good, excellent in fact. Train and Taxi are the only options to leave Casablanca's airport. We opted for train, the cheaper option, but quit expensive. As directed we disembarked at the correct station, deciding to find a local bus instead of a little taxi cost us a whole lot of walking, Willem and myself left the team with the bags at some point and ran ahead to find the No 7 bus. Finding the bus stop we returned, taking the whole team...

Those who pray together stay together

In Panama we went with YWAM to a small town. The main goal of our trip there was Bible distribution. We ended up walking door to door blessing people with Bibles if they don't have one and then we would pray for them and wait on the Lord to give us scripture for them. Through that God made His glory known all over that little town.

The training is a such great time!

The Lord is teaching  that we do not need feel guilty each time that we see that we are sinning. Even we being sinners and sinning every moment, Christ Jesus already paid the price for us, He fulfill the law. We must look to our sins and be greatful that He no longer care about it. It is amazing how Jesus works in and through us. I am greatful for be here and looking more towards Him.

Life after Global

Life after Global
I was part of the 2012 Work your way team and it was amazing an all that. The thing that got me by surprise was that my life after a year on GCEX didn't just stop. Maybe it is only my life, but it still feel like I am on one of the journeys. I might be back in South Africa but its like it is a new country part of the journey. It is just different people that in need of a savior and love.   God is opening doors for me that normally didn't open. It is just as crazy as...

God Ruined My Self in Cuba

God Ruined My Self in Cuba
We were in Cuba for 23 days. We arrived at Havanna, spent 3 days there to do our visas (which is a testimony in itself), and then got on a truckbus to Santiago for 13 hours. We spent our time here working with the people of GlaDios, working in a garden, painting the church tower, moving rocks, and spending time with the locals. (Spending time with the locals is probably what makes Global so much cooler than only traveling.) One night we heard about a youth meeting at a church. We decided to go. I was prepared to sit and...

Training goes on...
