My Global Challenge Expedition! It started off much differently than I could ever thought of. I always thought I was this strong, flexible woman that can do all things and love every single person! Then I enter the world of Global. I surprised myself and actually, God come to show me the real me! I've cried the first few weeks and wondered why I'm here. I thought I was weird because I did not know myself! But through all the sadness I still had a lot of happiness inside of me! Fortunately I knew some people from klersdorp that was...
After a whirlwind 7 weeks of training, that felt somehow longer than that considering all encompassed in them. I had laughed, cried, been excited, angry, confused, exhausted refreshed, very uncomfortable and so much more. But you see, I'd chosen this ( at least I think so) and when I came to Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa I knew training would be challenging but quite necessary. Well, I didn't foresee my irritation at having to do some athletic exercises on Survivor, being challenged on how I prefer to put God in a box I can wrap my head around when in actual...
The 15'th February Norm Wakefield came from Texas to help us understand the canvas God is painting. He is a true epistle of Christ and has shown me and 50 other Global Challengers how to know the Father and the Son. I’m sitting in a mini bus between bags and my team mates(family really) on our way to our last country for this year and its absolutely crazy! I am completely caught up thinking about everything that Jesus did this year. I really just want to weep and laugh at the same time - He did more than I could EVER explain in words, He changed every single part of me. He gave me more than I could ever asked for. Jesus showed me how to take everything in even if there is just two weeks left. Sure, I miss...
During the past 2 weeks our Lime team has truly experienced
God’s provision and blessing over our lives. We traveled to different towns and met amazing people along the way...
So far my journey has been...a journey! This is definitely not something that they tell you in training or even sign-up. No-one to share any revelation that you get during solo time, there is no-one watching your every move and reminding you to have solo time. There is no travel team, no finance team, no food team, and believe me there is no clean-up team. Everything is going so slowly and when I look at my watch I see what felt like 5 hours was in fact 5min. During the day I ponder on all the revelation I ever received...
Thailand was
AMAZING! I have named it Therapeutic Thailand because that is exactly how I experienced my time there. India was really blessed but it was honestly tough on many different levels and I left India feeling a bit battered and bruised and during my time in Thailand I just kept getting this picture of God rubbing soothing oil on all the "cuts and bruises" that I received in India.
What is true & relevant? A lot of movies has the punch line "true stories" but are actually false! Because true is revised from the word Truth and Truth is the Word of God, Personified in Jesus Christ and revealed through the Holy Spirit. Their stories are only real (it happened) but not True! Truth is to be Authentic and with Substance. Ex of un-authentism is "don't worry be happy" song and the guy committed suicide just after that! There was no substance in his words. Phi 3:10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may...
At the end of our stay in a country we are given questions to answer. These questions usually go along the lines of what did you think, how did you feel, etc. The purpose is for true reflection to take place and so that everything isn't internalised. This is called debriefing and I admit that it's really empowering. In Benin, a small West African country, we've each been given the task of writing a blog. It's a good thing since I'm also overdue on writing a blog anyway. But, and here's the reason for this explanation, this isn't just any...
