Global Challenge Missions Blog Archive: These are real blogs, from real people, bringing real change...

And they said Global is going to be hard...

This is just a short update on what is happening lately. We destroyed a building and cleaned up after words. We are working through Bible studies and tried to apply for Egyptian visas. This is the best part. We went to the driving range and played a few shots. This was so much fun! For the people that don’t know me well. This was my first time I had the chance to take a full swing at a golf ball. We went ice skating and even went to Niagafalls.

Building walls or windmills

When the winds of change blow, some build walls and others build windmills -Chinese proverb- Before we became a family we were all individuals living our separate lives. So in our forming a family our lives intertwined...but we all still came from different backgrounds. We have different ways of doing things, different ways of handling situations and different ideas. So when the winds of change blew we as a team were challenged. We all handled these winds differently. For some the winds of change brought about immediate adaption and they started building a windmill, for others the change was more...

A Journey to somewhere

I always thought the destination was more important than the journey, which I now know, is not the case. I think we’re all pilgrims in some or other way. Maybe not in the literal sense, but if you think about it we all go through life figuring out what we would like for it to be. Then we make these ideas our end destination. We put a lot of focus into it and concentrate all our energy on it. So much so that we tend to miss the things along the way that make big differences in our lives.   ...

My first week as an explorer...

I was quite shocked hehe. but in the end it turned out to be the most amazing experience. God made me someone else... It's not easy 2 explain but living with over 60 people for a week doing things i never thought i could do really shaped my being. I love these people. God has a spesial plan for everyones life. Information day & age

Information day & age
What is true & relevant? A lot of movies has the punch line "true stories" but are actually false! Because true is revised from the word Truth and Truth is the Word of God, Personified in Jesus Christ and revealed through the Holy Spirit. Their stories are only real (it happened) but not True!   Truth is to be Authentic and with Substance. Ex of un-authentism is "don't worry be happy" song and the guy committed suicide just after that! There was no substance in his words.   Phi 3:10  [For my determined purpose is] that I may...

A Jordanian Alley&Burned Oats!!!

As the bus left us on the abandoned bus station in Amman at 4:30 a.m., we were immediatly overwhelmed by the extreme cold of the morning air. We huddled together and decided that 2 things had to be done. Firstly we had to find some shelter and get out of the wind at least until the sun comes up. Secondly we had to make something to eat. We were all feeling a bit thin after missing 3 meals due to the travels! We sent out scouts to find shelter for the team and the rest stayed with the bags. When...

THE GREATEST MIRACLE!!!

So far my journey has been...a journey! This is definitely not something that they tell you in training or even sign-up. No-one to share any revelation that you get during solo time, there is no-one watching your every move and reminding you to have solo time. There is no travel team, no finance team, no food team, and believe me there is no clean-up team. Everything is going so slowly and when I look at my watch I see what felt like 5 hours was in fact 5min. During the day I ponder on all the revelation I ever received...

Training!

After a whirlwind 7 weeks of training, that felt somehow longer than that considering all encompassed in them. I had laughed, cried, been excited, angry, confused, exhausted refreshed, very uncomfortable and so much more. But you see, I'd chosen this ( at least I think so) and when I came to Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa I knew training would be challenging but quite necessary. Well, I didn't foresee my irritation at having to do some athletic exercises on Survivor, being challenged on how I prefer to put God in a box I can wrap my head around when in actual...
