Don't miss out on the beauty that surrounds you.

You can develop a healthy robust community that lives right with God only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other with honor and dignity. -James 3:18   I have heard missionaries say one of the hardest things they have dealt with and one of the biggest reasons why missionaries give up is other missionaries.    Jesus asks us to love and we think it sweet, untill...   -The dishes never gets done -Your spend hours cooking and they have the nerve to give you cooking tips and comments on how loud you are in the...

The beauty of the unexpected moments

IMG_20190419_131850
At 12- midnight our travelday began On a 9 hour busride from Rwanda to Uganda we set off.  Sleepy heads swaying side to side. A popping sound of a tire awakens us. Friends piggybackride eachother into the dark to do 'short call'  12- midnight again we were off to India. 12- noon we left the airport, not aware of the adventure that awaited us.  So we set forth with a limited budget, 20 kgs on our backs with a day bag in the front. Minds set on the dormitory 3km from the airport. Trying to stay strong, the humid and...

Finding God’s treasures in a Carribean Tropical Paradise – The Cayman Islands

Cayman Islands is amazingly, breathtakingly beautiful! We can’t believe that most of us didn’t know about this place before this journey. The ideal holiday destination! There are so many tourists and even foreigners who work and stay here (Americans, Jamaicans, South Africans and many, many more). Everyday there are between 3-6 of those big cruise ships that come to bring their guests to enjoy the Island. There are all these cool animals on the Island like Blue Iguanas, Sea Turtles and you can even swim with Stingrays and Dolphins!

Finances???
Peru ### AN IMPORTANT VALUE LEARNED #### %( PART 1 )% Finances is a personal topic. We are all ashamed to talk about it, especially if you are a Christian. @ How are we going to use our money? @ What should we buy and what not? @ How much should we give to the church ? @ Should we give our money to the poor ? @ Should we give our money to a NGO ? @ Should we take out a loan form the bank ? @ Should we spend our money on luxuries ? Jesus is an artist...

Sitting here, staring at a screen and trying to think of words that I can use to fill this blank space. Trying to find the words to describe what Jesus has done in my heart and all the things I have experienced during Training 2017. As I think back, I am absolutley speechless and all I can do at this moment is praise God because he is truly amazing!!! I wrote a poem (more like a descriptive paragraph) in training, I think it is a good way to kick start this new thing, called blogging and to share some of...

Going back in time

Going to Nepal I felt like I was taken back to the Bible time. When you read about golden idols that people made and worshipped you don't really comprehend the intensity of it untill you see it for youself. Here I found 100 meter tall Hindu god statues on mountain tops covering Nepal with a dark atmosphere. The people of Nepal is 80% hindu. And in the Hindu culture they literally have millions of gods. My heart broke for these people worshipping their dead gods, but the good news is that the Lord is moving in Nepal. We connected with...

Lekker!

As a team we are all starting to realize that we are moving towards the end of our 1 year journey. Rice has become our comfort food and we can probably write a book on all the jokes we made about it. The idea of any ending makes me feel sad, but where there is a beginning there is obviously an ending. It's a repeating cycle we constantly face and we always make such a big deal about it!  What I have realized is that the closer you get to the end, any ending, the more you would want it...

In the presence of a world Wonder

IMG-20190321-WA0029
Well, I guess some people will like to hear about our camel ride in the shadows of Giza's pyramids, or maybe something about what the Nile river looks like, but Egypt confronted me with something a little more significant. It came in the form of a question that was placed on my heart during our last couple of days, and it sounds something like this: When last has 'going to church ' been a decision of laying down your life in order to experience just a little bit more of Him? And when I say "laying down your life," I'm...
