My insufficiency, God’s Glory

I’ve tried to summarize the start of my Global Journey. The time here has been phenomenal, God has been teaching me about dependence on Him and has stripped me of self-sufficiency. I have learnt about pride, friendship, to live to love and I have seen His face all around me. I hope this gives you a little bit of insight into what I’ve been experiencing. My insufficiency, God’s Glory This whole time I’ve been thinking, man am I really like that? A sinner with a heart in open rebellion? Full of anger, fear and doubt, hopeless and broken without a...

Going to Transkei :)

This next 3 weeks is going to be great! I can only say 3 weeks because I have no idea what is going to happen in the forth. But I bet you the forth week is also going to be something amazing. This week we are going to eat on a budget of R12 per day per person. Nice! Die 2 weeks after that, we are going to Transkei. We are going to put up fences, paint and rebuild a school. We do not have a budget for this project. If you want to help us by making a donation...

The beauty of childlike faith

IMG-20190823-WA0005
My breath excitedly racing My heart smiling My eyes sparkling My cheeks glowing..  As I play hide and seek with (very adorable) Taiwanese nine year old boys.  What was once in my heart meant to be a plain straightforward ruled out game for little kids instantly changed to what I now perceive as the foremost adventurous hiding, looking, running, stopping, jumping, rolling, peaking, crouching and last but not least seeking.  I almost tripped as I ran from underneath a little shelter to jumping underneath a railing and crouching behind a bush because I couldn't help but laugh as my adventurous...

Do you Remember?

Do you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be? I was confronted with these words the last couple of weeks, in the sense of 'Are we what we do?' Are we what our surroundings make us out to be? Are we what our profession tells us to be? Or are we maybe something else? During the first week of training we were confronted with why do you do the the things that you do? Is it maybe to impress someone? Or to reach a goal- for instance for self glorification? I use to think...

UGANDA

IMG_4874
It's important to realize that God is at work and we must just join Him. My time in Uganda was a time of taking hands with others and reaching out. We didn't bring an agenda, we only joined God with what He is busy doing in Uganda.    It's sometimes tough to sit and listen for 3 hours to a group of people, but God taught me a valuable lesson. Every day belongs to Him, we must just surrender. It was wonderful to talk to the people in the ghettos and hear their stories. They touched my heart so deeply...

In the Press

Have you ever wondered how olive oil is made? I suppose many of us have given it a fleeting thought, but I'm pretty sure that only a few have sought to fully comprehend this intricate process (don't worry, neither have I). Luckily this message will not be an extensive explanation thereof, but rather one about how God has started the process in me - merely a month ago:   I've been plucked and tossed in a basket with many other olives - all eager to become what the Farmer has called us to be; whether it be as food on...

Breaking Individualism

All my life its been about how to perform the best I can, becoming the fittest I can be ,coming as close to God as I can be ,being as emosionaly stable as I can be ,and so the list goes on.In itself this strive is not a problem, I feel this has shaped the man I am today and has brought me as close to God as I can be,but now all the sudden the next chapter of knowing God and coming closer to Him as my True father requires me to now perform in a team habitat .Thinking of...
