'GOD IS LIGHT IN HIM THERE IS NO DARKNESS' "Can't you see?" the he said to me, "See what?" I asked. "That you are white washed, you are clean," then he continued "Will you give it to me?..." Totally confused by this question I asked: "What, what do you want me to give? My life? Is that the right answer?... What is it that you ask of me?". "Your darkness" he replied. "What darkness and how do I give it? Why do you want it anyway?" He answered me after awhile "Your rejection, your sadness, your pain. I want...

28 Maart 2017 Last week we had an amazing teaching on our identity in Christ given by Mamma Cita and uncle Mike. It resonated with our hearts. All of us in the adventure bound team is still young and it's encouraging to discover who we are in Christ. We learned that it is very important to find our identity in Christ and not in other things like our social status, our appearance or our success. When my identity is strong in Christ it won't matter to me what other people say about me! I love the comparison mamma Cita gave us....
Taking photos in the outdoors we see this eagle in flight and pull out our camera's immediately focussing on the eagle close by and blurring out the rest, zooming in to see the detail of the eye forgetting about the rest. Having the right angle to capture the Beauty of the feathers, have the shutter speed just right to catch the perfect shot. Have the aperture bigger to capture more light to emphasize the Eagle. Have the right aspect ratio to get the size of the photo right. We are so focused on using all these features to get...
I decided to come to Global with the mindset to grow as much as possible, I realised in order to achieve that I had to give it all over to God and trust Him fully in whatever He says, even though it might not make sense at the moment. I was definitely challenged and tempted to just give up and fall back into the way I always used to do things, but even through that God worked for my good! He showed me how to give my stuff over to Him. How to talk to Him about what...
They said "#imagine", and we asked "what can we do?".... craziest commitment ever It's almost like a really bad poem that ends beautifully with a lot of life lessons in it. Work hard, don't stop. Offense is a choice, don't waist food, don't get attached, you need friends, good friends. And you are gonna need a moment. Growing is something we can do on beautiful days, you know? Like a day you too would sing about. But I do not care so much for those days because windy, bad, sunny, crazy warm, not beautiful days you can grow on too...
Daily family life is always crazy and a little chaotic. A Global family life is not that different. Family life should be an adventure, when you add to that adventure, the adventure of traveling around the world with a lack of money and abundance of love and the adventure of traveling with Jesus around, in your heart, mind and character with the aim of ending up in Jesus lap itself freed of the unnecessary bondage of the world, than you have Global Challenge. We're the challenges come from is answered in the last sentence itself, if you didn't saw it,...
Before leaving for the nations we had some time in Johannesburg. We served at Gereformeerde church in Linden, but our team, Hidden Paths, was blessed with an opportunity to go too Potchefstroom for a week while the other teams was back at the "hallelujah house" where we then after Potchefstroom also severed. In Potchefstroom we did various things, marketing, leading worship, evangelism, serving at a home group sell and last but not least we did a little bit of manual labor around the pastor's new house. In Linden we did alot of ministry, but my favorite one was the senior...
Our week in Hong Kong was filled with so much love and blessings! We experienced God in new and wonderful ways and we found amazing ministry opportunities for the future. We think that God is planning big things and that future Global Challenge teams have a lot to look forward to for ministry in Hong Kong. Here is a short summary of how each team member experienced our short, sweet week in this Distant Island:
So what was the challenge? Travelling across 2000km in 5 days with no travel money. 2500km, 28 lifts and 1 train later we made it! 😬 In our prayers before our journey, the three of us had a theme of the ocean, horizon, sun on our faces and wind in our hair. I believed that God wanted us to purely enjoy the road trip that he was taking us on. Just take in all of His glorious creation and acknowledge His presence along side us. We met wonderful and generous humans, we laughed, we sang, and no, we didn't cry!...
"A ship in a harbour is safe, but that is not what a ship was designed for" To be at home safe, guarded and chilled-back seems like the life but what what kind of life is it when you do not go beyond the walls of safety and have an adventure? These past few weeks God came to shift my comfort walls to a point where I was faced with situations that I was ready to give up on everything I ever believed was true. I was faced with a lot of "why do you want me here Lord" and...
