Hallelujah! A 5 day lay over in India! Perfect for a little break, a lot of sleep and of course, exploring. So what's our budget? R1500 for 9 people. Not each. All together, inclusive of food, accommodation and travel. No sweat. Actually, a lot of sweat, this is India, the heat and humidity is next level! Off we go, out the airport, 20kg on our backs, 5kgs on our fronts, ready to walk a short 2.5km to our hostel in the blistering heat. As we turn a corner, a taxi offers us a ride and calls his mate to assist....

Greeting to all of you, I hope you are all doing well ! I finally come back with some news, I apologize for this long period of silence ! I'm gonna talk first about our last days in Guyana. Very rich in experience ! Let's talk about the bad experience first. One morning I woke up with a small pumple next to my right eye. Unfortunately, I have the bad habit of scratching, and the next day an infection started. We waited an extra day, but realised that it was getting worse, so we went asking member of the church...
It all happened 18 years ago, when God touched my heart and I decided to serve Him and He placed in it love for those who have not yet experienced His grace. I remember exactly that day when God called me. I read Psalm: 138: 8 which says "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands" (KJV). Since then I clung more to Him knowing that He would guide my way. My calling: THE MISSIONS I grew up with biblical teachings and studies, I worked...
By Marcel & Marizel Doing our bit to add flavour to Global challenge 2009 (wish we could add real tastes and smells too!) :-) Welcome everyone to the first of our new series called "Ietsie om oor huis toe te skryf...". This directly translated from Afrikaans to English means "Something to write home about..." and the inspiration came when experiencing something so life changing, we really felt inclined to write home about it and share with the people at home, so... here's our guava juice and later on mango juice experience* Not so long ago (3 days to be exact)...
Have you ever had the experience where you’re thinking about something and then you realize, how can you think that you are thinking about something? Wow , what an amazing feeling. Scary but incredible. Every time that I find myself thinking about something, I just stand in awe of the absolute majestic feeling of being able to think and the idea of that just numbs me to stop and think... The scary thing about life is that we are so busy and when we’re not busy we are busy making plans for being busy. Just thinking about this idea makes me...
Jesus was the only self-sufficient man to ever live, yet He chose to live, travel and minister with community. This means there is something special about family. Since Adam and Eve left the garden, the whole story of scripture has been about a family on the move. And so, this is a story about the forming of a new family, undergoing training and being equipped for a very special journey. The one thing that stands true for this family is that we did not chose each other…but God certainly chose us to be together. Two months ago we...
When we arrived at Jeffrey's Bay on the 1st of June, we felt we had lost opportunities of adventure and experiencing Jesus in the nations- because we came back home six months too early. We were hit by the harsh reality of covid-19 regulations, being unable to greet our global community whom we last saw at the beginning of March. One thing we re-discovered is that we need to be more flexible and that God is using us in ways we couldn't have planned for or even imagined. We had to let Jesus drive while we followed in the passenger...
The city of speedbumps filled with skeleton structures kite decorated skies and strawberries on the sides, the smell of shawarmas hanging in the air and falafels that you can find everywhere. Experiencing the joy of kids in the midts of their circumstances, slowly steeling our hearts as they share their past. Drinking bitter coffee while suppressing our expressions, miming out conversations and sharing our traditions. Sharpening our ping pong skills but still losing against the locals, ending the days sharing some laughters sunsets and kanafeh playing monopoly and drinking coffee. Where strangers became friends and friends became family on a...

It's so easy to go to bed when you do it every night. It's so easy to relax on a couch when it awaits you in your living room. It's so easy to wash your hands when there is a basin readily available. It's so easy to pour yourself something nice when it's cooling off in the fridge. It's so easy to take a hot shower and get into fresh clothes when you have a cupboard full of options. It's so easy to snack when you're not even hungry if there are goodies in the pantry. It's so easy to live...
