Every good blog needs at least one or more movie quotes and references. When Captain Jack Sparrow was asked the question how he was able to escape a desert island, after being marooned their by his mutinous crew, with only one pistol and one shot, he simply responded with:"you forgot one very important thing mate, I'm Captain Jack Sparrow."   During our Luke 10, the part in the Bible where seventy people where send out by Jesus to preach the Gospel but they are not allowed to take anything with them, our leaders "marooned" us us in Swaziland and told...

Ready for an adventure

14 Maart 2017 The vision of Adventure bound is to live ,grow and serve. We love adventure and we are not afraid to risk. We are 6 girls living in one house seeking God's heart and want to learn more and more each day. We will be involved with the Imagine camp- to market it and to attend the camp and serve in whatever capacity needed.  Imagine Camp is for teenagers between 13 - 19 years old. After the Camp we will be serving the Global Challenge Community by helping to complete the 3 log homes. When Uncle Joe prophesied...

Love at first blight

So we've finally made it to our first destination, the ancient nation of Egypt. Where thankfully there are no plagues at this time of the year. We were very warmly welcomed by the hosts of Anafora, who consists of a team of the most welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Immediately upon arrival we were fed the most delicious traditional Egyptian food and given warm beds. We are blessed enough to work with an incredibly friendly man named Nasar (as also indicated by his tattoo on his hand) , who also does not speak a single word...

God is all I need

Screenshot_2019-06-16-19-06-5_20190712-035528_1
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalms 23:1 NLT I read The Heavenly Man and realized what it meant to live a life knowing that God is all that we need. Brother Yun (The Heavenly Man) went through the most difficult situations. He was thrown into prison 3 times and there he was treated horribly. He was tortured and starved and through it all he still sang praises to God with a joyful heart. He had nothing to hold on to except God. And that was enough. That is how he made it day after...

The Bigger Picture

IMG-20190328-WA0007
I can't! I can't leave it like that! I just simply can't! I NEED to finish what I started!  Not being able to finish the chiseling on the hand gave me a pain in the stomach!  I really wanted to finish it.  To see the end result.    I feel like a lot of times in our lives we are part of something where we are not able to see the end result. Feeling that what we did or are doing does not change anything or that it will have no effect on the society.    Well that is how...

News from Brazil

Brazil Journey It is hard to capture the journey of Brazil in a blog like this. Climbing a mountain...that sums it up pretty well. Let me add a bit of meat to that dry statement. I am going to do this in point form.   #Brazil was spiritually heavy# It felt like I was on a battlefield in a spiritual war. I do not know how I can explain this. You had to be there to understand. There were days I could not sleep, because I felt like I was being watched. I had nightmares worse than my greatest fears...

The beauty of difference

IMG_20190324_173527
Warm or cold. Cats or dogs. English or Arabic. Busy or relaxed. Happy people or sad people. Do I want to go back afterwards or never again. I had no idea what to expect when I heard that we were going to Egypt. Is it going to be different? Yes! Well...There are a lot more cats🐈 The people there blowed my mind away on many different occasions and everything was just amazing. We lived at a place called Anafora and we met many beautiful hearted people. I truly enjoyed spending time with them, even while we where working and building...

In His Footsteps

IMG-20190712-WA0015
"I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves." (Zech 12:2-3)   I might be quoting out of context, but I can assure you that the world is still swooped up in an attempt to drink every last drop of this "intoxicating" city! We've recently had the privilege of walking its streets and meeting its people, and...
