Peru Questions and Answers

Peru Questions and Answers
"Missions within missions." There is no better way to explain Peru. We were in Peru for a month. It started with a boat from Colombia to Iquitos. We went from Iquitos to Lima to the Juncun to Farrenafe to the mountains, Incawasi, to Farrenafe to Lima to Cusco to Machu Picchu to Puerto Matarani to Arequipa to new country: Chile. I think it is safe to say we travelled in Peru and that we had many different ministries and ways of serving. We had school ministry, a church was planted, preaching, school programs, programmes for teachers, dramas, songs, teachings. Even...

“May All Who Come Behind Us Find Us Faithfull.”

IMG_20181103_162730_897
There are not many grand moments in life, even though this moment, this year was one of the grandest, I know that after this year we will hardly live life in those grand moments. We will live in the utterly mundane. This used to scare me but then I looked closer to these mundane spaces that we exist in.: the bathrooms, the bedrooms, living rooms and the hallways of life. This is where the character of our lives is set. This is where we will live a life of faith. And that my friends makes me even more excited, because...

ONE!

5 May 2008, KL, Malaysia - Sulene

Ephesians 4:1-16

"There is ONE body and ONE Spirit... ONE hope... ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all" - ONE who is over all and through all and in all!

Our theme for this month of ministry in Malaysia and Thailand is THE BODY OF CHRIST!  We are asking God to stretch our minds and challenge our actions as He teaches us on this.  During our time here so far, we have also had amazing fellowship with different believers and workers and churches.  My prayer is that our walks with them this month may bring both us and them one step closer to God.  May our love and unity be a testimony that invites many more into the Kingdom!

Egypt: an amazing experience!

On the 25th of February we landed in Cairo and at first it felt as if we were still in SA, it looked like SA.  From Cairo we went to a retrieve centre in the desert.  What a beautiful place!!! It was an amazing experience and I was privileged to have my first birthday away from home, there.  We went back to Cairo for a few days, where we stayed at the Backpackers, this time I realised every thing seems different, especially the people.  It was a whole new experience.  One guy even wanted to buy me, and the price...

Learning how to be a sheep

Learning how to be a sheep

The speaker crackled as the pilot announced our descent. Nervously, I grabbed Kasia’s hand as we descended into my homeland… South Africa, hello old friend. I was ready to go home, ready to see my family and friends, ready for the next step God prepared for me. I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to my team…my family.

We had spent ten months in each other’s company. For the last eight months, I had watched these people grow and mature as the Gardener Himself pruned and fertilized them. They watched me cry, laughed with me, supported me, prayed for me and loved me. They were my family for eight months… and now I had to say goodbye? God, am I ready to be on my own again after being part of a team for so long?
