Laos - God is soft and Gentle!

I don't have any words to describe my feelings. I'm so overwhelmed. First I was afraid and didn't know what to expect in Laos, but it turned out pretty good. This two weeks was a journey of patience for me. I spend some time with God to find out what His heart is for me. Then He came and show me that He is going to give me more and more challenges in life and on my journey and that will be the challenges that's going to make me grow closer to Him ! I had some challenges and with...

Smell, feel and hear India

Smell, feel and hear India
India is not just a new country but a whole new experience. Even the sounds of India is something unique. You definitely know that you are in the most populated country in the world. When we landed in Delhi a month ago I realised this is going to be special. They were not joking when they said that India is one of the hottest countries, specially in May when it is the hottest month of the year. And to be cultural sensitive long trousers is the way to go in India. BUT, and I believe it is God's favor to...

Our journey up to now...

23 November 2008 Flight from Johannesburg to Egypt 24 November 2008 Spent a day in Egypt - what a day it was. Johannesburg traffic is nothing compared to Cairo traffic.  In South Africa we have 3 lanes but in Cairo they have 5  and to make it even worse they just ignore the white and yellow lines.  All the cars are scratch and bumped but still they don't have road rage - what a good quality.  You can pay me R1000 000 and I won't drive there.  There is no traffic lights or stop signs.  You literaly have to hold your breath...

Enjoy, Relax...Chill-Out (Bosnia Herzegovina)

The people of BiH (Bosnia Herzegovina) say they have no lyrics to accompany the instrumental of their national anthem but I suggest they consider the title of this blog as it best echoes the healthy and appropriate season of rest and relaxation that is currently found in this nation. BiH oozes with the sweetness of irony.  Prior to our arrival we had heard about the country’s tragic and recent history.  It was hard to understand that what we heard was just that....history.  We therefore arrived in BiH expecting a dull, gloomy, poor and war struck nation.  To our surprise and...

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
Part 1: IsraelGod has done amazing things in Israel. We arrived on 15 September and will stay until 8 October. I had this desire to arrive in Israel, feeling like a little girl who knows that her father has a lot in mind for her. He wants to spoil her and love her with all He has. As we arrived we did not know what or budget are or even where we are going not even to speak about what we are going to do during our stay. We knew that Israel is a really expensive country therefore we thought we...

Neih Hou...or Something Like That?

We are in Hong Kong!  After a 12 hour flight, we have safely arrived in Hong Kong, pretty tired and worn out.  For those of you who are curious we are now 14 hours ahead of Texas time; put that on a post it note to remind yourself.  Unfortunately on the flight there was no turkey, stuffing, or green bean cassorole like Kim and I had prayed for.

More than just a wish

When I was younger (in the time of Aladin & Sinbad stories) I also thought about the wishes I would make if I had a genie in a lamp.  After much thought I decided that if I had only one wish in the world, I would like to make the world a better place to live in.  The only way I could think of to accomplish that, was to wish for everyone in the world to be Christians.
