When I was younger (in the time of Aladin & Sinbad
stories) I also thought about the wishes I would make if I had a genie in a lamp. After much thought I decided that if I had only one wish in the world, I would like to make the world a better place to live in. The only way I could think of to accomplish that, was to wish for everyone in the world to be Christians.

Guatemala - the most difficult country, but also the greatest experience ever! As we were preparing to depart for Guatemala, we knew that there was a hard time lying ahead of us...an ultimate challenge waiting for us. We didn't know what to expect on a spiritual level but we knew that we it was going to be a busy schedule with a combination of hard physical work and a lot of teachings at night. We were prepared for a lack of sleep, but not for what actually happened. As our time in Guatemala started a lot of us were affected...
They look like mini swimming pools. Pools of rice. Feeding 400 kids daily with two gas burners and big pots is a challenge. If there are only one tap and a really dirty floor outside it gets worse. It is in this challenge that we would like to help. The kitchen boys in Kota has a very special place in our hearts. It is them who Clara and Hattingh befriended the first year. They are the ones who cannot cope in school and have to work here. You can read some of Clara's blogs to listen to there stories. Emmanuel Home...
The second North bound challenge started with 1 grapefruit and 1 mission; to get to the Sea of Galilee as quick as possible!!! A welcome surprise awaited our blue team as we met up with Anthony who was to give us the rest of the tasks. We heard that we would be challenging with an extra team member. His name.......Trent! Just to explain a bit: Trent is a guy we met while traveling in Israel. He is from Canada and is a youth pastor there at his church. The last couple of days he has been traveling with us and we have really...
India fair india... A country with a great need. As you walk or drive through any city in India, you see the poverty and the depravity of man. This is sight that makes your heart turn and wonder where or how you can help, but then you see the need is to great and you feel helpless and also hopeless. The only thing you can do is turn to God and ask Him what now? I think the smallest difference we make in one life is a big difference to God. Even if there are millions of people that...

23 November 2008 Flight from Johannesburg to Egypt 24 November 2008 Spent a day in Egypt - what a day it was. Johannesburg traffic is nothing compared to Cairo traffic. In South Africa we have 3 lanes but in Cairo they have 5 and to make it even worse they just ignore the white and yellow lines. All the cars are scratch and bumped but still they don't have road rage - what a good quality. You can pay me R1000 000 and I won't drive there. There is no traffic lights or stop signs. You literaly have to hold your breath...
Okay, so pink is definately my favourite colour...but pink fingernails = not exactly my style!! Sapna, one of the lovely girls at the orphanage we visited in India, thought it wasn't such a bad idea & after painting the girls' room and washing our hands she continued with the painting...only on my nails this time :-) Since the moment I met her, I've learnt that she's crazy about butterflies, enjoys drawing and wears white shoes on Wednesdays only. But more than this she's taught me a lot about love, friendship, discipline and smiling even though from the world's point of...
Hello! So my name is Helen, I'm 21, from Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand and I am super excited about joining global challenge for 2011. For the past three years I have been studying land planning and geography at the University of Otago and at the moment am in the midst of studying for final exams. While studying here I came to know God and have been challenged to live my life for Him. It has been a time of growing my relationship with Him and understanding what it means to truly be a follower of Jesus....
