The Clarity

Don’t renovate the hatesword_of_the_spirit.jpg
That separates
But restore the core
Of what Christ spake

Resurrect the circumspect
Of words
that uphold the bold
My soul is sold
Not to the words of this world,
The cold

Last day at the office

Today was my last day at work. Very sad but very exciting in the same breath. As usual there was a lot to take care of and a lot that pop up in the last minute. The time with my fellow workers was only 3 years but it feels like I knew them forever. I hope and pray that they all stay in touch and remember me everytime i write something new on this blog. For those of you that is going through the same thing: Good luck and GOD bless. For those of you that is still thinking and not...

Go! Don't take anything with you...

Yes, that is what Luke 10:3-4 says.  "Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.  Carry no moneybag, no knapsack (bag), no sandals..."  Okay Lord, so I'll only be taking only a toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, papers, a pen, my passport and a tennisball.  I trust You to provide EVERYTHING else I need for this 11-day journey.  Man, and what a diverse few days it was...

Seeing God's World: Growing closer to Him!

Hello! So my name is Helen, I'm 21,  from Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand and I am super excited about joining global challenge for 2011. For the past three years I have been studying land planning and geography at the University of Otago and at the moment am in the midst of studying for final exams. While studying here I came to know God and have been challenged to live my life for Him. It has been a time of growing my relationship with Him and understanding what it means to truly be a follower of Jesus....

Please Support Northbound's Project!

Northbound (Croatia team, we are divided between Croatia and Bosnia at this point in time) is currently at the Kamp Fokus, which is a campsite owned by the Evangelical Church of Split. It is located about 170km from Split and it is in the beautiful Croatian mountains. The team is currently helping out in the kitchen, we are responsible for the kid’s games at the camps, we will help with building of the bungalows and we are sharing God’s Story in our lives by doing dramas and testimonies at night around the campfire! God is truly moving mightily in the kid’s hearts, as well as the parents and camp staff!

We are going to China?!

We are going to China?!
China We assume that everything in China is more or less what we imagine it to be, but I guarantee that China is different from the way most people are picturing it. The moment when I think of China I start to think of all the negative things the world has spoken over this incredibly big nation. When you hear China and 1.2 billion people in one sentence, I immediately put on my straight face in disbelief. Our team had the privilege to spend 2 weeks together in Xiahe. We had to take 2 connecting flights of 2 hours each,...

A present of God - Gracias Señor

How big is the probability to go to a country not knowing where to go, where to sleep, what to eat, what to do, but finding everything prepared?! That's exactly what happened to us in Mexico. Gracias Señor - Thank you Lord! We believe in God and not in probabilities, God had everything prepared, the whole 2 weeks in Mexico seemed like a present, showing just a drop of God's amazing love. So many times we got invited to eat in restaurants, people of the church were bringing us so much food that in the end was enough left to...

The start of the journey of my life

The start of the journey of my life
Mariska Booysen   It starts on a train leaving from Johannesburg to Jeffery’s Bay... This exited feeling of anticipation is slowly coming to a boiling point.   I know that my highest expectations for this journey will be exceeded, for we can’t even begin to imagine what our God is capable of, and His work is beyond impressive and will touch us in places we didn’t even know exist.   I’m ready to feel the Hand of God in my heart and life, and to follow in His Footsteps so that I do not get lost on my journey  ...
