The children from India

The children from India
Almost two weeks after we have left India, but still the children at the orphanage stays in my heart We really had an unforgettable time with the kids. The orphanage that we visited was one of many that are run by the organisation and had about 500 kids. This organisation look after about 6000 orphans in total. (A bit of statistics: There are currently 86million street children in India, almost double SA population) One of the questions raised to me was what motivated me to get involve with the kids, well I don t think it will be possible to...

Last day at the office

Today was my last day at work. Very sad but very exciting in the same breath. As usual there was a lot to take care of and a lot that pop up in the last minute. The time with my fellow workers was only 3 years but it feels like I knew them forever. I hope and pray that they all stay in touch and remember me everytime i write something new on this blog. For those of you that is going through the same thing: Good luck and GOD bless. For those of you that is still thinking and not...

It has been a while...

At long last I am also writing something.  Were to begin? We have traveled through the Middle East wıth mixed feelings. Egypt was a spiritual journey - one of realising how dark the world could be. The difference between Cairo and Anaphora-in the spirıtual world-was so tangible,it was frightning. In Dahab we had a good time ın teachings, but also  swimming in the Red Sea and searchıng for Nemo. Did I mentioned the 11th plague that ıs still ın Egypt? FLIES!!!!! oh and for extra measure- cats and even more cats!!!! In Israel everything changed yet again-except for the fact that we,GCEX,managed...

The Gospel

I read a book called The Way Of The Master that radically changed my view about the Gospel. It talked about the basic purpose of the Gospel. Some of us started to believe that the purpose of the Gospel is happiness on earth instead of righteousness with God. I realized that I also conveyed Jesus to other people as just a way to improve your life. I didn't want to offend people. I wanted to share the gospel so that there was no way that people could be offended by leaving out details. Details like that your sin makes God...

Oops, it's 9 already, and I haven't died.

I'm lying on the floor, staring at the white ceiling of a plastic container, the commotion stopped, the little girl that brought me to her mother left, the laughs of miscommunication turned to silence and all I hear is the footsteps of people on grew mine rocks.  Jesus what am I really doing here? I was there, next to a far pregnant mother of four staring at her as she just fell asleep from exhaustion . Only in this silence I experience a little bit of the reality being a refugee, losing your husband, not always due to the war,...

No scratching!

No scratching!
You know that some people are just more prone to mosquito bites and such?  Well, I am one of those.  So starting out this year, I stocked up on enough Tabard.  As it turns out, mosquitoes are quite courteous and will respect the fact that you went to all the trouble of smearing yourself with a stinking cream.  Gnats, however, are not so well-mannered…   Whenever I looked at the 10 plagues that hit Egypt, I never thought the gnats that God sent to rise from the dust were a very hectic one.  This was before my first real encounter...
