CAMBODIA: seeing the hope for change

Cambodia. At first when you think of Cambodia, you would probably think of the horrific things that have happened here in the past. When I first realized that I was coming here, I thought the same thing. Now that I am here, I don’t think of that at all.

India continued...

Well, the last time I emailed you, we were on our way to the Taj Mahal...What an experience! It is a beautifull place! Very interesting and facinating to see! After that we went to a marble shop where they showed us howe they made the marble things, very interesting. But it is only after that that the fun/chaos started! We drove 5hours to the train station in Delhi to take a train on our way to the Himalayas... A train experince in India... now that is something that I can write a book about! It is CRAZY! God qualifies the called!

God qualifies the called!
This past weekend we as the 2012 participants had our briefing weekend to prepare us for our seperate journeys next year. We got to meet the 2011 participants and they shared how amazing the Lord has touched their lives in the past year. Continuing the good work that He has started in them! It was a bit overwhelming, realising that next year this time it will be us sharing our experiences with the next generation of challengers when I do not know whether we will ever be prepared. This weekend I found immense peace in knowing that God does not need me, but He wants me. There...

The meaning of the word: CHILD

The meaning of the word: CHILD

Ever read a well known verse in the Bible, and realized that although you know this verse well, you never before stopped at the verse to let it really have an impact your life? You then also realize that you have never really understood the verse. It is usually at that moment that you and God set offon a new journey of discovery and revelation.

Matt 18:3 “...unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (NIV)

He Called, I Answered.

There is something liberating about sitting on a rooftop of a hostel in Istanbul, looking over the chaotic puzzle of buildings and busy people with Amanda Cook's 'Wonder' pumping through my earphones. What a time to be alive. Staying only a stones-throw away from the Blue Mosque, waking up with a view of the Ayasofia every morning and walking through Istanbul in my identity in Christ - literally walking around with our identity scribbled on a piece of paper stuffed in our shoes - I was constantly reminded by Him that I was called for such a time as this....

A nations hope in the hands of a five year old.

The hope of a nation.

Written by Elzet - 19 May 2008

The dominating religion in Thailand is Buddhism, and because of all the foolish offerings and worship to Buddha, the future and hope of this nation lies within the children.

Deep within the poverty of Thailand, where families are struggling to provide enough food and not all the children can go to school, the streets are lined with spirit houses. The sun is reflecting off the gold statues and it is surrounded with bright coloured flags...

This past month in Thailand has been an indescribable blessing to me! Except for all the WONDERFUL people, food and assignments we had, it's been a real special time of experiencing God's presence and learning at my Father's feet!
