Kenya: preparing the way

Kenya: preparing the way
God is doing a new thing in Global Challenge this year by sending teams into the world without Global Challenge staff members as leaders. This sounded very daunting at first, but its actually such an opportunity to build next level faith. Now we can not rely on previous experiences, but have to truly trust Jesus in every choice and situation. It is after all the same Holy Spirit guiding all of us. At the foot of the Ngong hills, just outside Nairobi we had the opportunity to serve at Harvest School, where 21 Kenyan kids go to school knowing Jesus...

Travel In Style

We journeyd into the western heart of Africa, from Morocco to Senegal. We used every means of transportation possible and we arrived safely at our destination. From busses to a ferry and then God surprised us with the best transport we could imagine through the Mauritanian desert - two big, luxurious Mercedes taxis! Never would I have thought to travel through the desert, let alone with a Mercedes. We had a journey filled with laughter and surprises as we travelled from Morocco, through Western Sahara and Mauritania to Senegal. All in just three days. We arrived late at night in the...

"Pot-luck" lunch Peruvian style

Today we returned to the village where God had done miracles and several community members had accepted the Lord the previous day. Again, we were allowed to speak to the school children. This time, we did a drama about how sins become burdens in your life and weigh you down and how Christ comes and wants to take our burdens from us. All we have to do is give them to Him and He will throw them as far as the east is from the west. After this drama, we again shared the gospel message and asked the kids if there were any of them that wanted give their life and their burdens to God. At this invitation, 18 kids came forward and we were able to pray for them! We then gave all the school children, teachers and some parents New Testaments. Again, people from the community came for prayer. Women were healed from body pains, sickness of their whole body and chest pain. More people came to know Christ and more people came from their homes for prayer!  Again, God was faithful and showed His glory to those people!

After praying for the people, we were invited to join them for lunch. But, it was not just any lunch,

Immune

7 weeks. The time we would have leftover once leaving Zanzibar, of which 2 weeks were likely to be dedicated to travel. Not much time.Mozambique. Here we connected with Iris Ministries forming a bond with the other visitors, together engaging in a variety of ministries. Through outreach we visited a village. Labour saw us load and deliver bricks. Widow and hospital ministry had us meet up and pray with the beat and broken. And children's ministry. Many an orphan, infant and older, warmly embraced us and we did our best to return this welcoming. Singing songs and playing games, Iris and...

Hector on a mission!Written by Hector:

We have been in China for almost 2 weeks now and it is about time show you what is happening in China lately.

The latest event was a visit to the Great Wall which was really great as you can see on photo beside.

The previous two weeks we were kind of "Stepping on toes" as described by Sulene, so with Sulene's consent (I hope) I have added part of her email to explain more...

Waiting on Him

Waiting on Him
When I look around me I see a crowd of people. A rainbow nation from everywhere seeking one perpose. To pray to God to save our nation. Our God is on the move. I can feel Him. Quick Update

JORDAN When I saw the new Journey 'Ancient Paths' that will be going to Jordan it stirred my heart to consider doing the Journey. About a year ago the Holy Spirit inspired me to go and help the Syrian Refugees. He said that He will make a way...and He did. I was surprised when I remembered the word and realised that He actually made it happen. THE CHURCH We arrived in Jordan at the beginning of April. A church in Mafraq that serves the Syrian Refugees hosted us. They give out necessary things like blankets, pillows, matrasses, gas stoves and...
