The last couple of days have been one big blessing from our heavenly Father....the people He chose to bless us with.......a normal Thai family.

I'm writing to you from Saint Louis, Senegal! The journey here as been phenomenal. To get here we had to cross one of the harshest environments on earth: the Sahara desert. In my mind I always thought of this leg as one of the more difficult parts of this year. And it wasn't easy. It required quite a few miracles and a lot of prayer. Let me summarize the challenges of this journey: 1. Between Dakhla in the Western Sahara and the Mauritanian border there is a 320km stretch across the desert without public transport. 2. Getting your visa for...
Our team went for our last two bowls of R2 ice cream and quickly passed our room in the church before we walked to Besaida's house for the last supper with our Cuban friends. By the time we were already a bit late (not by cuban standards though) and we tried to pick up the pace just a little bit when a lady stopped Keneilwe asking for money. This is not strange as it was obvious that we were foreigners, and foreigners usually have a lot of money. Somehow this was the very first time I felt I should...
Angus heard God's heart and acted apon it, calling a nation to stand together. The 22nd of April was the prayer meeting in bloemfontein where 1.7 million people attended and I had the immense privilege to be one of them. It was time and I was standing on a hill in utter awe, looking down at the swarms of people that have come because of Jesus. Flabbergasted, I had to sit down for a while to take it all in. Looking around me, seeing people praying at the cross, seeing others crying and seeing some in joyous worship. I still...
Peru was our last country and one of those places we moved around a bit so this will go place by place and cover our flights back to SA. Mancora The yellow team arrived in Mancore, a beach chilling town place in north Peru in the semi desert, on the Monday 2 pm, the exact time that you could start booking into the backpackers we were staying at. Maxine and the Blue team was already there and greeted us when we got there. The 3 days in Mancore was a rest and recovery time for the team and to...
it is in serving the people that you discover something about the heart of God. We are currently spending time in the local community meeting people and playing with kids in the streets. The way we view community is limited to our environment. We compare what people have to what we have. It is like we deem our standard of living as the benchmark. Our take on the world is limited to our own suffering. We lack perspective. Their is a world in need and we are blind to what the world really needs...hope. We all need it. Jesus...
Firstly I would like to apologize for the short blogs, but there had seemed to be a problem when I use the "read more" button, so this time I will not use it. After a very challenging season, where our team got really tested in China, we went off to Russia. To be truly honest, I was not looking forward to Russia, I mean not compared to all the other countries. In fact I thought Russia was still communism, and believe me its not anymore. Anyway I might be giving away my IQ, so we landed in a place called...
Well the last 8 weeks have been the most testing and most exciting of my life!
I have seen and done things that I still can't believe! Eating chicken feet and sleeping in standard bank ATM room are probably the low light but the same 24hrs seeing provison of steers burger and hitchiking home (j-bay) were definately in the highlights.....what was it all for....preparation to head into the nations!
Guatemala… We entered Guatemala with a bang and so the adventure began… We met up with Pastor Ben that day and so our expectations were blown away. The man Geoff described to us wasn’t the man we met. Grace changed the life of a man completely. The weekend we had of to ourselves to explore a little bit of panajachel and to see how the culture is. Monday the work began… That day not only did we start to work on his new house he is building but also on our new drift trikes… A truly new experience I...
We started Cayman with an easy airport entrance and being picked up by miss Erna, our host for the time there. And we were so blessed, we stayed in miss Erna's second house across from her house, this meant that we had a big house to stay in and what is more it had warm water!! It was also stocked with food, but warm water so good (I hoped that by this time I would be used to cold showers, but no warm water still makes me happy). We were really spoiled while we were there. The 10 days in...
