Hi, I can’t believe the time is here and exams is over! Now in about 2 days we will fly out to Hong Kong to start our trip. At the moment we are staying at Alabanza for training and getting to know everyone. When it was exams the time flew pass so fast and now the time is going past so slowly. But I am so excited and can’t wait any more!!! I just want to get on the plane and start my journey with God and to learn and spread the Word! I’ll be honest, I...

Spending time in the centre of Egypt was an interesting experience. Something I sometimes wish I could pull apart, study under a microscope and then put back together again as I please. It's like building a puzzle without first seeing the picture. In the end I found comfort in seeing the church searching for God as much as I was. Longing to love Him more everyday. I realised again the privilege of growing up in homes hearing the name of Jesus, whether in Egypt, SA or any other place. I saw and experienced courage and conviction under persecution and...
This was a great weekend! Meeting the people that got back from their journeys. It was so fun and great to hear some of their stories. The challenge was BUITENSPORIG LEKKER!! Thanks for everybody that stayed and welcomed us. Bernard Hollander and Phillip Pretorius, I want to thank you the most. WYW is going to be AWESOME. The thing I wonder most about is what I am going be like when I come back. Because there is not a possibility of coming back the same. One of the hardest things is: thinking that I still have to go home tomorrow for 43 days...
Why are we so afraid?!
We started our journey by feeling that we should go right from the airport, we didn´t know that the only exit from the airport was right, and suddenly realized it was not going to be an easy hike as we were heading down the highway in the blazing sun. After a while a car picked us up, and took us in to city centre, dropped us off and we started heading down the highway again where a van picked us up and took us on the way to Copacabana. From there on we walked to the closest beach and it...
Such a long time since I last sent a decent update. Things has been busy and a bit unsettled so it has been difficult to send an update. Since a few days ago things are a bit more know so I will give it a try now. The team One of the things that were a bit unsettled was the team, as in who would be going on the journey. We are 7 members in the team that is going to be travelling this year, 2 guys and 5 girls. We are also leaving behind 2 girls that are not...
We all know the very famous song; "It's more than a feeling" and we've all joined in singing it at the top of our lungs playing some serious electric air guitar. But after 4 and a half weeks of being in training at Global Expeditions, these words have developed significant new meaning to me... After a very emotionally active day, we had a nice worship set up for us, fairy lights and all the necessary things to create a nice "vibe". And I loved it, ybecause I was excited for wanting to feel God's presence because the right atmosfeer...

I look out the airplane window, and way down I see the country of India. From up here it still is only patches of different shades of brown, patches I've never seen before. But somehow I still write in my Bible, next to Isaiah 61, the text received for this country: "FIRST time on airplane to India". How much more are there gonna be ...?
Really being tested with patience here...don't you hate it when you type a really long blog or letter and then it just disappears? Well, I do. Pardon the blog, it might sound like I'm a bit edgy... This is the 2nd blog in the last 5 weeks. Yes I have been lazy. In my defense, we have been traveling like crazy. I mean 30h and 13h train and bus ride crazy.. We have finished India. Some of the fondest memories of the trip so far were created there. At least at the orphanage. This is where I saw God's...
Peru has really been a place of seeing God, how he works and just so much more of him. Even the first night we set foot on the Peru side of the amazon river at Santa Rosa, it felt like nothing I had experienced before. A small pirate like town where I found myelf struck by the poverty and state of the surroundings. Rubbish floating past and everything dirty- Where was God in this situation? Then after getting our passports stamped in the most miraclulous way we went out to explore. In coming across a small little church with lights...
