Guatemala to London...

I know, it's been a really long time since the last blog in New Zealand!  And now, I'm going to try and summarize the experiences of the 2 months that followed into one blog!    After New Zealand we passed through the USA on our way to Guatemala.  There we had 2 days in Guatemala City and then took a chicken bus to Panajachel.  During this month (until 18 August)  we worked in Panajachel and the surrounding area.  It was a time in which God challenged me on various areas and  further opened my eyes to the reality of the spiritual war we are engaged in. ...

Ani Le dodi ve dodi Li. Songs 6:3

May I come to know Your heart for the nations and for myself even more and more each new day Father.... Johannesburg - Cairo - Sinai - Dahab - Jerusalem - Nazareth - Lisbon,  Massama. The first few days of my 80 Days journey is finished, the pilgrimage, blessed, I am.  My eyes have seen the works of His hands, my heart has experienced His love. Egypt was an interesting experience, climbing a pyramid.  Beholding His church in a waste dumb, still in awe.  Seeing an Egyptian sunset on the Nile.  Seeing another Egyptian sunset on Mount Sinai, breathtaking!  Feeling...

Glorious Penang

The more I think about Malaysia, the more I realize what a wonderful country it actually is!
Many a Global team has left their footprints on the culture-rich soil of Malaysia, but for some reason there is little mention about their times here.  Furthermore, I realized that there is still a bit of a lack in solid contacts anywhere in the country.

So, Malaysia isn’t really on any list when it comes to island-nations and we didn’t really intend on spending time here except for our transits through the airport onboard all the cheap Air Asia flights.  In a sense, Kuala Lumpur airport became a second home to our team, without us ever really wandering into the city and beyond.

When He grabs hold of you

When He grabs hold of you
We are in Kenya. We are in Kenya. We are in Kenya. A year ago I would have been at work doing some MS Excel programming and moving automotive parts in a warehouse to create space for more parts... I AM IN KENYA. We are walking through the streets of Kenya, we are teaching primary school kids that Jesus is the Winner Man, we are eating mangos, chapattis and beans. Karibu. We are in Kenya. No matter how many times I repeat it, it still feels weird and unreal. When we arrived here alot of us asked the question: What...

Breakfast in a hammock

Breakfast in a hammock
We started Peru off in Iquitos. This is a town in the middle of the Amazon! How did we get there? Well there are no roads to Iquitos only rivers to Iquitos. So your options are boat or plane. We opted to go for a 3 day upriver boat trip from Leticia Colombia.                         This boat trip was so special! We slept in hammocks had no team activities, the boat cooked for us and sailed us up stream for 3 glorious days. We had our meals served to...

They are worth it!!

They are worth it!!
The headlights of the bus lightened the entrance to the orphanage and a young boy ran to open the gate. As the door of the bus opened my heart replayed well kept memories; I am where my heart is. Standing and embracing the moment I dared to look around to find familiar things, children and or faces. Behind me I saw his smile, joyful and alive. “You are here”, I exclaimed! Lun the Kitchen boy, my boy came to greet me. Having no contact for more than a year I was hoping he was still here. With no time wasted...

East Africa Rollercoaster

After a brief, very satisfying, visit to South Africa I eagerly made my way back to the team in Ethiopia. I was curious to see how they were doing and to hear what adventures they had made through on their way to the small village of Jinka in the south western part of the country. Some of their adventures became apparent on the way as the tar road leaving Addis Ababa gradually dried up. It was replaced by a bumpy, dusty gravel road and we moved at a frustratingly slow pace. At least Wayne was with me to keep me...
