Who is this God?

I am on an Island called Zanzibar which is about 2 hours from mainland Tanzania by ferry. It's beautiful beaches and people are like stories only told in semi-fiction books, if there is such a thing as semi-fiction. Truth be told that the world we are living in is full of half-truths. After sitting in sessions on Islam and meeting believers of islamic backgrounds, I am more than sure the god of the Qu'ran and the God of the Bible are not the same at all. How in the past I thought we served the same God is sheer ignorance...

"Gobble gobble!" Said the turkey

Freaking turkey! Not the bird, the country! It wasn't my favorite place but man I learnt a lot about trusting God! And letting him lead you no matter how hectic it looks! Starting in Istanbul after being flipping sick, I recovered then we hitchhiked or auto-stopped to Ismir which was amazing, trekking with my leader Louw I really learnt a lot about his intricate personality! Which was nice! We where blessed so much meeting Random people who just bought us food and drove us far, it's also fun trying to speak to a Turkish person who can't speak a word...

The Art & Architecture of Sao Paulo

[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZUmd0KiOBM 480x400]   I was completely fascinated by the architectural diversity of Sao Paulo,Brazil. Yes, I know i'm on a missionary trip but because we had to sort out or Panama visa in downtown we walked the streets of Sao Paulo thoroughly. Enjoy the variety of free-form and the effect it has on the city.  Be Blessed Jacobus Scott

They are worth it!!

They are worth it!!
The headlights of the bus lightened the entrance to the orphanage and a young boy ran to open the gate. As the door of the bus opened my heart replayed well kept memories; I am where my heart is. Standing and embracing the moment I dared to look around to find familiar things, children and or faces. Behind me I saw his smile, joyful and alive. “You are here”, I exclaimed! Lun the Kitchen boy, my boy came to greet me. Having no contact for more than a year I was hoping he was still here. With no time wasted...

Guyana and Suriname

Guyana and Suriname
Guyana and Suriname Guyana? Is that in Africa?  No, It's right next to Suriname.  Suriname??  This is the general reaction I get when asked where I am at the moment. Luckily I have a quick explanation to clear up any confusion: It's just north of Brazil. Going into Guyana I had absolutely no idea what to expect. It's not like Jamaica or Cuba where you have a preconceived idea of what it may be like...all we knew was that there were a lot of mosquitoes (not my idea of a place I would want to be in for too long)....

Ani Le dodi ve dodi Li. Songs 6:3

May I come to know Your heart for the nations and for myself even more and more each new day Father.... Johannesburg - Cairo - Sinai - Dahab - Jerusalem - Nazareth - Lisbon,  Massama. The first few days of my 80 Days journey is finished, the pilgrimage, blessed, I am.  My eyes have seen the works of His hands, my heart has experienced His love. Egypt was an interesting experience, climbing a pyramid.  Beholding His church in a waste dumb, still in awe.  Seeing an Egyptian sunset on the Nile.  Seeing another Egyptian sunset on Mount Sinai, breathtaking!  Feeling...

Down Under

Down Under
Australia... where should I start?  There is so much I have that I can tell you, but it has never really been one of my life ambitions to write a novel, so I decided that I shall stick to the highlights.  Two and a half months, 10 weeks or 70 days, doesn’t matter how you look at it, went by in a flash.  Oh but what a brilliant flash it was.  I’ll try to contain my excitement as I relive my time in Australia. After a wonderful time in New Zealand, we flew into Sydney at the end of May. ...

When He grabs hold of you

When He grabs hold of you
We are in Kenya. We are in Kenya. We are in Kenya. A year ago I would have been at work doing some MS Excel programming and moving automotive parts in a warehouse to create space for more parts... I AM IN KENYA. We are walking through the streets of Kenya, we are teaching primary school kids that Jesus is the Winner Man, we are eating mangos, chapattis and beans. Karibu. We are in Kenya. No matter how many times I repeat it, it still feels weird and unreal. When we arrived here alot of us asked the question: What...
