I'm currently in jbay at the end of our third week of training. This is my third time being involved in the process but it feels like a whole new ball game now that I'm leading a team... The last 4 weeks have felt like a year, not in the sense of time dragging but rather in the exponential growth I have experienced myself and seen in my team. But before I elaborate on that I would like to give u a heads up on logistics so that you can see the full picture. At the beginning of the...

Life without God is like watching a low resolution movie. However, He opens your eyes to see the endless colors in each individual pixel. It is no obvious realization, and explaining it sounds crazy, but you know only a stoner can understand another stoner. 1 Cor 2:6-12 Yet amoung the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a HIDDEN WISDOM OF GOD, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had,...

Dear Warriors, Knights and fellow Citizens Just the other night I was crying to the Lord about some things and responsibilities that simply seemed to weigh to heavy. While I was pondering on this I had a picture in my mind of myself with a big and heavy sword in my hands, standing in a thrown room. The thought came to mind that I chose this sword myself, and now I’m so tired of carrying it, nevermind trying to fight with it. I realised that God has a unique sword fitting for me. He created me and He’s the one...

Our Father in heaven May your name be kept holy May your Kingdom come soon May your will be done on earth As it is in heaven Give us today the food we need And forgive us our sins As we have forgiven those who sin against us And don’t let us yield to temptation But rescue us from the evil one This was the single prayer in my heart as we landed at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport in Malaysia-East a few weeks ago in June. As a pioneering country, I will lie if I say that...
Do you remember some of these girls? These are pictures of some of the girls I met at the orphanage during our time there in 2007. What an amazing privilage and joy it was to see them again this year!!! To see them laugh and sing and dance... To hear them pray and see how they have grown... To spen time with them again - building friendship that impacts eternity in both my heart and theirs... To listen to their joys and fears, their dreams and their tears... To share LIFE and just to BE and to LOVE... "MY...
Wow. I read the blogs of the people I'll be joining on 80days (and the others already on their respective challenges) and...wow...The commitment amazes me , each blog tells a story of not only a journey that has yet to happen...but a journey that has been started quite some time ago ...and after reading all the blogs it makes it difficult to write my own...simply because I feel that I am no different to any person sitting next to me, that I have no "special" story to tell...My reasons for doing 80days have changed so much over the last couple of...
Please spare me a brief moment to just testify how faithful and powerful our Provider is. Global Challenge has been a dream of mine since I've first heard about it in 2008. I was just fascinated by the idea of visiting a dozen or so countries, seeing new places, experiencing foreign cultures and making memories that would last a life time. Due to the incredible amount of money needed to go and the fact that I already took a gap-year after school, it only stayed a dream. Thinking back now, it was truly God's plan because I wasn't nearly ready...
Somebody pinch me, please! Already the end of January - unbelievable. What a time we've had!? What a blessing to receive our teams - our companions for the year - and to get to know awesome people in God's Kingdom. It's a toss-up to pin down my highlight so far - working at a local school to improve learning conditions, and sitting at the feet of Floyd McClung - a giant (in every sense) in God's service. May I never grow used to seeing our Lord Jesus Christ enter and touch the hearts of ordinary people to change their lives...
