What is a church made out of? If you would build a church were would you start?Would it be with a building plan and a trip to the hardware store? And after you've built it how long will it last? I am in Bosnia I Herzegovina (BiH) right now. Helping with the annual summer camps. It's a lot of fun but a little stretching on the language side. We have just finished our first Kids camp of 6 days and are already busy with the second. And this is watt I believe we are doing. We are building the church...

If there is one thing I can say about our team is that we never really plan too far in advance and you know what, I LOVE IT. It’s probably because we are 5 guys and alot of people may not necessary agree with the way we operate, but it has really opened up the opportunity for God to lead us and has grown our faith as well as make our journey very exciting. So needless to say a week before we would have flown into New Zealand we still weren’t sure where we were going to stay, what our...
Dear Global Challenge supporters The Northbound team is currently working at an orphanage in Kota , In dia . There are about 600 children accommodated in this Christian home. So often one becomes aware of the overwhelming need in the world, but doesn’t know how to get involved or whether one’s financial support will make a significant difference. Here in Kota we have enough helping hands and willing hearts , but a lack of resources, to complete the task. We identified the following projects to be the most urgent: • Mr. Thomas , the manager/father of the orphanage, had to...
I know you're probably thinking that this is such a strange heading for a blog, well yes it is but it was a word i got for Nepal and on top of that it gets me super excited to write about ;) Just like when you rowing through the rapids of rough waters and it feels like a battle seemingly IMPOSSIBLE to over come.. This is similar to what i experienced in Nepal in terms of our street ministry there.( except that Jesus is way more powerful than anything we encountered).. Everywhere my eyes glanced there were idols that people...
After 2 days of travel, delayed flights, Egypt's elections, Spain's airport strikes and being stuck in peak traffic in Guatemala City, we made our way to Panajachel! It's been an interesting journey this far. God's been preparing us and binding the team unity and love. We are all looking forward to the time here in Panajachel and what the Lord will be doing in and through us. In the next few weeks we will be involved in various projects, helping the local congregation and the surrounding community who had a rough year marked by natural disasters and ongoing mudslides. We...
John Daniel Redcliff, at the age of 37, has never been outside the Port Elizabeth area. At the age of 3 polio took a bit of his independence. Now he is a man living on his own and doing so much more for himself. He embrace life to the fullest! After experimenting in many things, he realised in 1999 that the world is no fun without God and so he got baptised. His mother past away shortly after that and his father followed after her. Life was though! Our path crossed last year and the locals of Jeffreys Bay...
For it is in the brokenness of the soul that my spirit lives. The last few weeks God reminded me of His grace and that it is indeed only by His grace that I am saved. Never will I make it on my own and never will I be enough. My daily strength only comes from God Himself. Waiting and yearning for Him in every moment is my only air to breath. He will make everything new in such a way that I will not find myself in it again. Therefore I pray time and time again: Lord,...
we arrived in Krasnoyarsk on the second of July. Our team was divided into two: four of us stayed in Krasnoyarsk to present African Cultural evenings to the Russians. This made us really homesick. The fist week was very busy. During the morning, we planned and worked out a program for the evening and in the afternoon we played sports. During the cultural evenings we talked about our different foods, cultures, cities and history. We even demonstrated some dances like kwaito and sokkie...we also performed Waka Waka....ALOT. During this first week, we had some time to minister to the people...
