NEW TEAM....NEW FACES....AMAZING TIMES AHEAD!

The past week we met everyone "officially" into our small teams, and WOW!, God really put everyone exactly where they need to be! I am in the Yellow team, and this year the Yellow team is going to MOVE! I can not believe how it is possible for 5 people, to mix, match and adapt to each other. I know we only started, but WOW!, this is really a new family to me. I will never forget my old team, and I love them dearly, but this is a new chapter, one which will only be written by God. So,...

My 2nd "blog" YIPEE

My 2nd "blog" YIPEE
A very good hallo from Yaounde, the capital city of “green” Cameroon! It has been a shock to our system. Coming from the Sahel and the dry poor Niger to the green pastures of Cameroon. The saying “ the grass is not always greener on the other side” has become a fake not true saying... it is greener! thank you Jesus! After the dry hot weather we are having an awesome time and God is providing in many great ways. Thanks for all the prayer all over the world. We are seeing the fruits and the blessings of...

Blessed times in New Zealand!

Blessed times in New Zealand!
If there is one thing I can say about our team is that we never really plan too far in advance and you know what, I LOVE IT. It’s probably because we are 5 guys and alot of people may not necessary agree with the way we operate, but it has really opened up the opportunity for God to lead us and has grown our faith as well as make our journey very exciting. So needless to say a week before we would have flown into New Zealand we still weren’t sure where we were going to stay, what our...

God is not a Mzungu

I learnt many new words while in Zanzibar. Amongst others, one that apparently describes me: "Mzungu". That's the Swahili word for Europeans, though quite derogatory. According to my new friend, Ussi, a venerable Zanzibari wiseman, the name comes from the "mzunguka", meaning "one who comes and goes", which was first used to describe the white explorers of earlier centuries, the likes of Vasco da Gama and David Livingstone. Today, the word is thrown around willy-nilly mostly by dala-dala drivers trying to make an extra couple thousand shillings off unsuspecting tourists who never stay long enough to know better.  Zanzibar,...

Brazil - God Doesn't Need Google Translate!

Everything that the Holy Spirit taught me just during our first week in São Paulo, Brazil, can be condensed into that one sentence: God doesn't need Google Translate. He really doesn't!

Born to be a Peruvian Kingdom builder!

Greetings friends and family from Panajachel Guatemala! We have begun our next ministry stage in a new country, and although we have only been here a couple of days, Guatemala is one cool place! Lake Atitlan on which Panajachel lies, is surrounded by beautiful mountains and even a couple of volcanoes, waiting to be explored I might add! I am so excited for what God has in store for me and working through me here in Guatemala, and I’m looking forward to learning and growing in all areas of my faith through different teachings from the local pastor, working projects and building team relationships. We shall be working in smaller groups on different projects in the area, with the intention to rebuild /fix / relocate a number of homes that have been affected by recent mudslides, which are very regular occurrences in this area.

Reflecting on the last month it is with great joy that I wrote this blog and share about my time and experiences in Peru!

The Gypsy Chronicles

Long, long ago in a land far, far away (ok maybe just in Jan 2011, and maybe just in JBay), destiny made two wandering spirits collide, and so, the Gypsies united union was formed.Princess Kakalethu (also known as Joy) and Togosile(also known as Emme), together with 5 other awesome individuals went on a journey to go where no one has gone before (ok maybe Explore Africa 2009 and 2010 and a few other people)   This has been a journey of great delight and magnificent sights, suffering and learning, laughter and tears. Ever so often Princess Kakalethu has had...

Russia!

we arrived in Krasnoyarsk on the second of July. Our team was divided into two: four of us stayed in Krasnoyarsk to present African Cultural evenings to the Russians. This made us really homesick. The fist week was very busy. During the morning, we planned and worked out a program for the evening and in the afternoon we played sports. During the cultural evenings we talked about our different foods, cultures, cities and history. We even demonstrated some dances like kwaito and sokkie...we also performed Waka Waka....ALOT. During this first week, we had some time to minister to the people...
