Red team Luke 10

Red team Luke 10
Our Luke 10 expedition began on 23 August 2011 from Lisbon, Portugal. The red team consisted of Frikkie de Beer, Carmen Ann Lombard, Christopher Griesel, Nelmari Smit and then there was a new member only for Luke 10, named Samuel Vogel. Samuel's parents are missionaries form Switzerland in Portugal, Mem Martiens where we served for three weeks before Luke 10. Our team prayed and asked God where He wants to send us for Luke 10. There were several words and pictures that came up in our prayers, but we didn’t get a specific place where God wanted to send us....

To love and adore You

Lord; In the cold light I live to love and adore You. It's all that I have, it's all that I am. In the cold light I live, I'll only live for You. It's all that I have it's all that I am   This is my way of worship. To embrace every moment for what it truly is, a gift from You Lord. To understand that there is something beautiful in brokenness, even if that brokenness is in me, also knowing that in my greatest struggle there is a lesson to be learned. And h aving utter and complete...

A journey through the Hidden world

A journey through the Hidden world
Day 1 The first day was our day of faith. Completely surrendering and just doing as God tells us to. We got our first lift just outside town at the entrance of Mike and Adelle (from Crossroads) new home called “MOOIBOS”; they took us all the way to Antigua – 4 hours. Our second lift was a very old pick-up but it was sufficient and it took us all the way to Guatemala city, as we were walking down the street quite hungry I prayed and asked God where we should get food and very clearly on the wall...

Luke 10: Picture book

Before Luke 10 I often wondered what is the hardest part was going to be. I found a lot of options like 'no money', 'no food', 'sleeping on the streets' and 'not knowing were to go'. Looking back I am 100% sure that the hardest part is 'coming back and trying to share the experience with others'.

I can easily compare Luke 10 with a thick book.
It is filled with characters you meet as you turn the pages, some just playing a small part, others you get to know on a deeper level and see a lot of growth in their life. It also has interesting events, funny little twists, highs, lows and a whole chapter on faith.

I would have liked to invite you to turn the pages of our Luke 10 book with us – but due to technology's influence in this case - I'll rather ask you to scroll through the pages with us as we share our Picture chapter with you.

Luke 10 -Day 5

Normal 0 Today we were in Pajijiapan with the pastor and his wife who took us in.   They took us for breakfast in their restaurant and then Christine did the blog while the rest walked around in town. When they returned they chatted with the pastor and his wife and Elzet and Christine went back to the home to try and do some laundry (not very successful, it started raining when the laundry was on the washing line and did not dry in time by the time we packed again)   We bought bus tickets to our next destination...

CRAZY FAITH

CRAZY FAITH
Have you ever thought what your reaction would be if you were to live in biblical times, or if you were to meet up with someone from that time? For the last three weeks we have had the crazy privilege of spending time with an Ezekiel, a John of our times... and no, my reaction was not as "godly" as I thought it would be. my first thought was: "Are you serious? This guy?! Is this the amazing man of God? He looks crazy!!" :) And so this "crazy man" challenged everything I see as truth and asks me to...

The King and I

I remembered so good the day I watched the movie, and thinking: How can a king make so much effort to build relationship with a servant?   And then I came to Malaysia – and this is what I found…   Serving in a school the Lord had a very specific plan for me. We served from the morning to night, being part in different things and serving in ways that was far above what I thought I could do!!! The Lord taught me out of Rom 8:1 – 17 and I want to share that with you…   *...

Going to where God is at work

Going to where God is at work
Stepping out in faith has been the focus of our year and never have we seen God in control as much as we saw in one specific week. We recently had our Luke10 journey which lasted for a week. We started in Mersing, Malaysia and would meet our team again a week later. Luke10 in the Bible is where Jesus sends out his’ 72 disciples to go to towns without anything with them. Going to where God was at work was our aim. We were split into two teams for the week. Before we set out we prayed together to...
