Piece by piece...

All I remember is the pain that once was.. "world" you didn't want me, you just used me and when I couldn't give anymore of me I was worthless to you... but piece by piece Jesus picked me up and restored me. All of your words fall flat and I will never go back to you. "World" your love isn't free, you have to pay for it.. again piece by piece Jesus filled all the wholes that you burned into me. I never have to wonder my worth because Jesus loves me... piece by piece Jesus collected me off the...

No Longer Slaves

This year has been a journey of victories. One such victory is finally finding my identity in Christ. This sounds quite elemental. And it is; but it is also a huge victory that I celebrate. This journey of identity actually started 3 years ago, when the Father made me aware of my insecurities and fears. As an answer to this problem I tried identifying the lies in my foundations. Because insecurities are in essence lies in our foundations. But it was tiring work. And replacing these lies with Biblical truths proved just as difficult. I was aware of the basis...

There must be more than this?

There must be more than this?
I have lived the life many people only dream of. Traveled to distant lands, been on great adventures, slept under the stars, jumped off waterfalls, snorkeled in one of the most beautiful reefs in the world, rode in\on almost any mode of transport imaginable, including camels and an elephant, climbed to the top of mount Saini to watch the sun set. I know what it is to love and be loved unconditionally. I have seen revival in the hearts of little children and shared the laughter of an old lady, who was healed and able to walk again... the list...

Do You Mean To Challenge Me?

It scares me to think that all I’ve known for the last 12 years of my life will change so drastically within the next few months, but at the same time I cannot wait to see where God wants to take me. At the beginning of this year I came to the realization that God is way bigger then I initially thought He was, and although I’ll never really be able to fully grasp how great He truly is, I’ve decided that I want a life that experiences as much about Him as possible and encounters Him in as many...

Experiencing South African Hospitality in Hong Kong

Even though our time in Hong Kong was very short, it was very powerful and impacting. Like we would say in Afrikaans "dit was kort maar kragtig." We had the great privilege to stay with Albie's aunt and uncle, who are South Africans that moved to Hong Kong about 9 years ago. They were such a big blessing to us. They impacted every one of us so much, through their unconditional love and their way of giving and sacrificing so much of themselves and their time to us, without expecting anything in return. They opened up their home to us and made us feel part of their family, even though they never met us before and didn't really know us. We were completely undeserving of their love and blessings. We learned so much from them, just through the way that they live and do things.

Farewell Lime team of 2008

Farewell Lime team of 2008
What an amazing year this has been for our Lime team. The Lord has been doing wonderful things in and through our lives. We started off in January at Alabanza ........    and ended the year with a bang in Jeffreysbay.....      Thank you God for an amazing year like this.A year that changed our lives forever, a year where we saw the nations through His eyes, a year where we re-established ourselves in Christ and being transformed in His image. It was a privilege to journey with Him and spend time together on a daily basis. As a team we served together, prayed together,...

I am done coping, I WANT TO LIVE!

As I sit sipping my Turkish apple tea and ponder on the last few weeks, I cannot but rejoice in the Lord! After visiting SA for six weeks due to pneumonia I rejoined my team and for the first time this year without a cough. I only realised once I was healthy again how long it has been that I have been sick... It is similar to when we live in sin, we never see how deep we are in it until we are free from it and look back to see how far we've come. God's intention for us,...

Santa Catarina photo blog

Santa Catarina photo blog
In a little town callled Santa Catarina (1 hour's walk from Panajachel), we assisted with a building project for a family we came to love dearly.  They gave their hearts to Christ before we left Panajachel but still need a lot of prayer in their walk to maturity in faith.

God planned a music concert!

Two and a half hours of free time in Santa Marta, Colombia. The desire of guitar and coffee at the seaside burns in my heart. Because I don't have a lot of money left, thus I boil water, take my flask and loyal old plastic cup with a bag of South African hot chocolate. With Eileen's guitar in hand I head towards the beach. I look for one of the very few spots of shade that is not occupied. I take my seat on a little wall next to the ocean. I was busy writing a new song, and that...

The fair side of life…

When one has the privilege of visiting India, the one thing that everyone will notice is the extreme poverty that drenches this country. Last month, in India, we witnessed a lot of people in need of homes, food, parents and most of all in need for God in their lives! Over 89 million orphans, of the 120 million orphans in the world, live in India. When we went out into the streets of Delhi, we were surrounded by hundreds of beggars that ran after us. These people hardly stay alive, and the only hope that they live for, is that...
