Sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

Today I'm reminded of the wonderful lyrics by Jeremy Riddle: What a priceless gift, undeserved life Have I been given through Christ crucified You've called me out of death You've called me into life And I was under Your wrath Now, through the cross, Im reconciled At the cross, You beckon me You draw me gently to my knees And I am lost for words, so lost in love Im sweetly broken, wholly surrendered Throughout this week we've had the privilege of being taught by Norman Wakefield. He broke scripture down in a new way, with emphasis on being anchored...

The Big Bang... God?

I was ready to save the world! Superwoman suit - CHECK. Last year just the thought of doing this adventurous Global Challenge gave me an electron bombardment! I got emotional and anxious as I really have a HUGE task to fulfill.  A few months later I'm sitting here vividly realizing I was the one getting saved and that this year was basically giving myself fully over to the King of kings to change me into the new being that He promised to change me into.  Everything I ever wanted to be was inside of me all along-Jesus. All I had...

No Longer Slaves

This year has been a journey of victories. One such victory is finally finding my identity in Christ. This sounds quite elemental. And it is; but it is also a huge victory that I celebrate. This journey of identity actually started 3 years ago, when the Father made me aware of my insecurities and fears. As an answer to this problem I tried identifying the lies in my foundations. Because insecurities are in essence lies in our foundations. But it was tiring work. And replacing these lies with Biblical truths proved just as difficult. I was aware of the basis...

Road rage: What is the big issue?

Road rage: What is the big issue?
While we have been travelling, I have noticed one thing about road rage. There is so little road rage in the last 3 countries that it is scary to think about the situation in SA. Let us compare shall we? China: There the driver with the biggest horn wins. They drive very reckless, but there are so little accidents that you can't believe that they keep on driving that way. There is also only one clinic available in the small towns, so they can't afford it to make accidents. Thus, they all stay calm during the times in which they...

Incredible India- experiencing God’s provision first hand!

Words can hardly describe what India is like, let alone sum up 6 weeks of ministry, new experiences, strange cultural habits, Hindu idol worship, hot food and spices, spiritual warfare unlike any we have ever known, smells and sights of poverty known but ignored by the western world, personal struggles and attacks, disbelief at personal growth and change throughout the year, but also experiencing the power of prayer and the very real presence of God in the lives of children so small their faith touches your inner being and makes you wonder why you’re not living the life you have been called to live-to be in constant communion with the Lord and in step with the Spirit! What an example of faith!

There must be more than this?

There must be more than this?
I have lived the life many people only dream of. Traveled to distant lands, been on great adventures, slept under the stars, jumped off waterfalls, snorkeled in one of the most beautiful reefs in the world, rode in\on almost any mode of transport imaginable, including camels and an elephant, climbed to the top of mount Saini to watch the sun set. I know what it is to love and be loved unconditionally. I have seen revival in the hearts of little children and shared the laughter of an old lady, who was healed and able to walk again... the list...

Let it Rain: Laos

Let it Rain: Laos
Laos: Let it rain! “Yeah guys, we have no budget for Laos.” Maybe that statement needs some clarification. To clear it up a bit, I will start one country earlier. I am not referring to Nepal in this case, but rather to Thailand, where we spent two nights in Bangkok. Unfortunately one day is way too little to truly be able to say one has seen Thailand, or even Bangkok, but we filled our time as best we could. After a morning of debriefing Nepal, we hit the streets, looking for a certain famous tourist area in Bangkok. It turned...

Lyrics from my heart

God is so real. He is so present. He goes before me in every situation. He holds my heart in the palm of His mighty hand. What else can I do but worship the King of kings?   Through Colombia, Peru and Chile I just realized again how much God loves me and how much He longs to be with me. I missed home more than ever in Colombia and Peru but after lots of prayer, God changed my heart. And I know now that God has something amazing instore for me in this last few days!   I really...

Breaking point!!!

So my question for the time in Turkey was this.... After you have let yourself down and let the people around you down and have realized that you are not so great or immune to certain things that you thought you were,  what is your first thing that you do? Do you go to your parents? Do you go to your friends? do you ask advice from a magazines Dr Ruth? Do you go to Opera? Or  do you fall on your knees, repent and pray that God will lead you and give you strength and pick you up again?...
