The Centrality of the Holy Spirit We see that the Holy Spirit was absolutely central to everything the apostles did in the book of Acts. Nothing could be done without the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit and this was always the one ingredient they were looking for. At Pentecost it was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that created a wave of miracles and also Peter boldly standing up and preaching. Later on in Acts chapter 8 we see that even though people had given their lives to Jesus through the evangelism of Phillip the first thing Peter...

3 Continents in 3 days, Africa, Europe and Asia. This is how our 2016 journey began... and if it starts like this, then what else can you hope for but an adventure of a lifetime! Turkish Delight, it comes in every flavour and colour. Some are crunchy, others melt in your mouth, Some look better than they taste, others look very plain and boring but when you taste it there is a flavour explosion. Some traditional, others the latest trend that comes and goes. Some only made from "healthy" honey and others pure sugar and gelatin. One thing that is...
The worst part about traveling is knowing you will never be the same after leaving the place you were in. In some cases, you leave a piece of your heart behind, along with the people you've met. This was one of those cases. Mexico, you have completely changed my perspective of what it means to fall in love with a place. When I think back on our time in Mexico, I don't see places, I don't see the beach or the shops or the thousands of tacos that we ate. I see the faces of people that I met and...
So many things happened in Peru. I can think of a month full of activities and places to tell you about. But I know that is not what God wants me to tell about. He wants me to write about what He did in my life in Peru. It's actually really funny. Every time people ask me what is my favourite country, the first thing I think of is what God did in every place. My favourite countries are not based on what we did there, but what God did there in me. What did God do in Peru? There's...
I am content This... this took me 18 years and 8 months. I just got at this point were I gave over and yes I still get those breakdown moments where I try to open the door of self control again but,I am content. God came these two months like a mighty crane and demolished everything I knew and everything I thought I knew. Then, well then He came to me in my broken and stripped place and talked so soft and gentle. He knocked and I did not want to open the door but still He went to gather lilies...
We’ve got a pioneering spirit. A spirit that needs an area big enough to breathe and stretch out so it can grow to glow. It is something I have experienced in my journey around the world. We just love to discover new places and faces, living fully and freely. I’ve also realized that I’ve been doing that (it can be done) not only around the world, but in my (your) neighboring town as well. There is always new boundaries to discover and another horizon to see from different angle. Others inspire us, information feeds us, practice improves our performance, but...
I love growing closer to my father this year and truly see his amazing love. There is no sweeter name then that of Jesus. The love he gives is beyond compare and set fire to your heart and spreads like wild fire supping from the main source if the father heart. something that truly girpped me on the journey so far is how easy it is to love and care for people who share the same spirit. The unity that forms between Gods children is unique. An instant conecction is made and understanding, exitment and love is shared. Fellowship. ...
It must have been quite a sight for the locals to see 9 South Africans and 1 Canadian (Danica’s mom and grandparents had arrived a few days earlier) eagerly scanning the crowd at the IST airport. An even bigger sight must have been seeing us all suddenly push our way to the front to greet 22 parents, grandparents and friends. Slowly we made our way to the train that (after over 10 stops) would take us back to our hotel. Somehow all 36 of us with all our baggage managed to squish onto the train and arrive safely at our...
