Suriname, expect the unexpected...

Suriname, expect the unexpected...
Crossing the Guyanese border with a ferry into the Dutch speaking country of Suriname... Not wanting to rest our eyes, when there is so much to see... Wooden houses build on stilts, coloured flags every where, all sorts of new fruits to try while seeing so many warm smiling faces...   After a whole day of traveling we arrived at Hebron mission school where we were warmly welcomed by some of the students who just finished their garden duties...    After settling in, Pastor Moestafa came to greet us with a big smile. As one of the teachers at the...

Buenos Dias amigos !

Getting fit for the race!

Getting fit for the race!
It's been an incredible 6 weeks of traing in J-bay, Transkei, Cape Town and all over the Eastern Cape. I've met amazing young people and we've become true brothers and sisters over this few past weeks, learning more about our purpose, ourselves and God. My heart is being transformed by the passion and freshness of Holy Spirit working inside. I've realised that by allowing transformation and welcoming change, your vision gets clearer and your perspective gets stretched. Which has been such a wonderful process for me in this time of training. My eyes have been opened to see little miracles...

Water problems and mud...

modder_005.jpgOn Sunday 24 Feb we had a great day! Just think mud and pancakes?
It was Marcel’s birthday!! This meant we had nice pancakes with chocolate source.
This was in fact not the best part. A few days earlier we started to experience water problems. So on Sunday morning just after breakfast we headed out and started to inspect the water pipes looking for some kind of problem.

THE TERMINAL

Me, Marliaan, Marna, Janica and Roelf flew via Hong Kong to India. So we relived the movie " The Terminal" because we had to sleep and live at the airport for a whole day! We slept in the emergency exit room!! It was very funny! The part that is not funny is that my bag did not arrive in Hong Kong and they are still looking for it!!!! It has almost been 24hours and they still dont know where my bag is! We are flying to India in 2hours and hopefully they are going to send my bag to India . Please pray that...

Northbound invades India…!

Northbound invades India…!
Jai masih ki! (I greet you in the name of Christ) Northbound spent our lay-over in Hong Kong. Taking a bus into the city, doing window shopping and spending time with the locals was a great way to start the journey! We arrived in New Delhi at 03:00 am and arranged for 3 local taxis to take us (and the backpacks) to the main bazaar. What a country! We spent the first 4 days in Delhi getting settled into the ‘Indian way’ of doing things. Taking hose showers, eating samoosas and chapattis, enjoying the aircon in the metro and experiencing...

My first blog! #ready-as-can-be

I take Psalm 139 as my own and praise God for the nations and proclaiming each promise He gives me!!! "The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted! He is the God who pays back those who harm me. He subdues the nations under me and rescues me from my enemies. You hold me safe beyond the reach of my enemies; You save me from violent opponents. For this, O Lord, I will praise you among the nations, I will sing praises to your name. You give great victories to your king; You show unfailing love...

There is Joy knowing Jesus in Kenya*

There is Joy knowing Jesus in Kenya*
I really enjoyed Kenya, it was so amazing to see what God did in just one week, brining our team closer together, the open, friendly people who would just trust us with their things, The awesone way God revealed Himself in the time spent in the prayer room we helpped to launch and also having so much favor with food and traveling... I deffinitly went through some inner struggles but that is part of growing and God teaching me to live a holy and pure life as it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:7 "For God did not call us to...
