Going Overboard!

It’s the last week before heading down to Jeffrey’s Bay:  preparing, packing, making final arrangements, saying goodbyes, eating way to much of my mother’s food, dealing with emotions (mostly those of my parents) …  All of this in just a few days!  But the thing that keeps me preoccupied for the most of these last days, are my (lacking) funds for the year – who will help me with it, how much will they give, what more do I have to do?  Then it hit me, practice what you preach, and go overboard!   Yes, you heard right, go overboard! ...

North-Bound Golf fundraiser

North-Bound Golf fundraiser
The NorthBound 2011 team has had an amazing time of growth and fellowship in the first 6 weeks of training and has been blessed by the Lord with growing evermore in unity. The team members have committed themselves to sharing each others’ burdens and have decided to make a joint effort in raising funds for the team to assist them in their journey. One of the team members, Jeremy, has therefore decided to donate his golf clubs for this purpose. We are therefore launching a raffle, selling tickets for R100 each for a chance to win the golf clubs. The...

ENDURANCE

ENDURANCE
"For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised"  Hebrews 10:36 Israel had to wait for Moses to come back from the mountain... They waited... And their lack of endurance was costly. It is in the moments that we feel we can't wait any longer, we can't stand firm any more, that the victory is so close! The Lord want us waiting, waiting upon Him.      In my own knowledge and strength things can be done... will happen. But I ask myself is it in Godly time...

I don't understand and you'll never understand...

I've only been in Egypt a few days and it's been enough to make me ask various questions and draw me  deep into God's word.  And I've heard so many say “I don't understand” - in conversations, expressions of their minds and in prayer.   On our arrival in Cairo we had the privilege of seeing the city from the air at night.  Thousands of lights of all sorts.  Then we noticed all the green ones standing out... hundreds of them.  As we drew closer to the ground we recognized the towers from which these green lights came...hundreds of mosques. ...

My LiFe HaS ChAnGed FoR GO(O)D...
HOW do I describe a week (past 5 actually) that tossed and turned, uprooted and uplifted, shook and revolutionized my life... It's hard to explain the impact of the event to those who didnt experience it first hand, but I will try my best to do so without scaring anyone off...   > My HISTORY is not my IDENTITY - may past is part of me but does not need to own me! We all make mistakes (and fall short of the glory of God - Rom 3:23) - but we can and are forgiven and can move on  and...

I was a child of war (Sudan blog)

I was a child of war (Sudan blog)
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I was a child of war . Born in a land without books and writing, a land where history was carried on your mother’s tongue and in the songs of your village, a land swallowed up by war even as I uttered my first cry. And so, even the date of my birth was lost when my world was lost to me. Me and the lost boy Lino Kaman (left) Soldiers came in on their horses with their guns, burning down the village, killing the men and raping the woman. I heard cries for...

I think one of the best experiences in life is not just to see the world, travel and meet new friends but to come home!

I don't know why this time of the year always feels like a roller coaster ride that never ends, always looking for a faster turn and life just flies by.   There were many times this month when I just stopped and looked over the Global Challenge group and just realized; God's Grace carried us all the way!

God took me away, and now He brought me back

After an amazing truly wonderful year I am now home! Ready to rest in God! ALL the Praise and Thanks be to GOD for all the guidance, protection and provision through the year!!  I arrived back in South Africa about 2 weeks ago. After a surprise visit to my parents I then had to drive off to Jeffereys Bay where we spent our last two weeks together as a team. Spending time in Debrief and just working through all the great stories, trails and especially the many miracles God has done and is still doing. It was truly a blessed two...
