Let it Rain, Let it Pour...

What a blessing, what a joy divine to be in Masaiti, Zambia.  Greetings from a soaking wet muddy and water flowing “Koti Ni Eden” farm of FCE.( Foundation for Cross-Cultural Education) Surrounded by bush, villages, termite moulds, the Kafulafuta river, no electricity, kapenters( small fish like cat food), huge ants, mosquito nets and let me not forget to mention continuous raindrops, it’s a privilege to be here. It’s currently rainfall season and when I say rainfall I mean it. Everything is bright green except the red muddy roads and buzzing mosquito’s. However in just a few months time the Zambians say the climate changes drastically here and it becomes very dry, brown and no more rain. Even though my washing takes about four days to dry if I’m lucky and it hasn’t rained wet again, it’s still great to be here!

City Of Promise

City Of Promise
"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Mat. 9:37-38) We serve a God that has so much love and mercy.  It is so clearly seen in the passage where He gives the servants the order to wait before they remove the harvest and the weads that was planted by the devil inside the fields (Mat. 13:24-31).  God gives the same chance for both to grow so that the good harvest will not be lost.  His mercy and love streches so far that...

Breaking my coral heart in the Philippines too…

Breaking my coral heart in the Philippines too…
While working on the ship, I always knew that I loved the Pilipino people, I just never realized how much, until I got to spend 2 weeks with them.  What I experienced pierced my heart so deeply that I couldn’t spend a single moment in prayer, without tears streaming down my face.  This was also the time that Clara and Anthony came to visit us.  What a blessing!  We just sat like little sponges around Clara all the time and tried to take in all the wisdom we can from her!     Our time with them was so incredibly blessed,...

North-Bound Golf fundraiser

North-Bound Golf fundraiser
The NorthBound 2011 team has had an amazing time of growth and fellowship in the first 6 weeks of training and has been blessed by the Lord with growing evermore in unity. The team members have committed themselves to sharing each others’ burdens and have decided to make a joint effort in raising funds for the team to assist them in their journey. One of the team members, Jeremy, has therefore decided to donate his golf clubs for this purpose. We are therefore launching a raffle, selling tickets for R100 each for a chance to win the golf clubs. The...

Bodybuilding (Written by Kobus)

Bodybuilding (Written by Kobus)
1 Cor. 12:13 – “A body isn’t just a single part blown up into something huge. It’s all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together.” (Msg) Growing up in a Christian home you hear this teaching a lot: the church is like a body. It has different parts working together. I knew this and experienced it in South Africa, but in Malaysia it came a reality for me. Though the time we spent in Malaysia was difficult I was carried by the church all the way. From my fellow Global Challenge team member to local church members here in Kuala...

Hidden World Ubatuba Update

[video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKQQ09V1Gx0 400x400] This is our first blog video clip of the year. Our time in Ubatuba, Brazil has consisted of building relationships with friends and members in the church, as well as some work projects. During these times there were an occasion where we prayed for a friend´s hand that had been hurting and not functioning properly for ten years - God healed her hand immediately! Glory to our King and Saviour! We are also looking forward to visit and pray at a hospital soon, and finding opportunities for some evangelizing. Please follow us as our year unfolds and as...

Compelled by love

Compelled by love
Wow it has been such an incredible past few weeks. We have found ourselves drenched in truth, confronted with law, and resting in grace as we spent time delving into the word, digging deep foundations for hostels, being challenged by our past and the hidden parts we keep locked up in the recesses of our hearts. I cannot begin to explain in words what it has been like to experience the freedom and power of the Holy Spirit as I just let go and let Him take control! But what does any of that matter if it does not change...

Pure heart, clean hands?

Pure heart, clean hands?
Mount Sinai                      (10 March - 11 March)   What a beautiful view, feeling as if you are standing on top of the world!  This was definitely my favourite part of the Egypt journey!     While climbing mount Sinai, referred to as mountain of God, I couldn't stop thinking about a verse in Psalms; who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place?  He who has clean hands and a pure heart. (Ps 24 :3-4)   The question is...  How clean is your hands, and how pure is your heart?   We all...
