By Marcel & Marizel Doing our bit to add flavour to Global challenge 2009 (wish we could add real tastes and smells too!) :-) Welcome everyone to the first of our new series called "Ietsie om oor huis toe te skryf...". This directly translated from Afrikaans to English means "Something to write home about..." and the inspiration came when experiencing something so life changing, we really felt inclined to write home about it and share with the people at home, so... here's our guava juice and later on mango juice experience* Not so long ago (3 days to be exact)...

When you think of climbing a mountain, two things could go through your mind. The first is the effort that it would take to make it to the top (believe me it does take a lot of effort!), and the second is endurance to see God's glory in the end. In life you always have a choice... either to go on through your struggles or to give up when it gets a little bit rough and believe me it will sometimes get rough! When we climbed mount Sinai yesterday I saw a tiny glimpse of God's splendor when we reached...

I don't know if you know the feeling you get when your busy with praise and worship but you feel a kind of numbness at the same time? This happened to me the other night while I was truly seeking God and wanted to meet with Him but I just couldn't get myself to that point... So I prayed that God would put a feeling in my heart, anything, but that He would just put something there. Just as I finished my prayer I began to think about Africa and all the corruption and other religions that taints the land. The next moment I started praying...
Hi everyone!* Please pray for Dunette (Northbound team leader)'s mom who was in a motorbike accident and was in ICU last thing we heard yesterday morning!* p.s. everything is going super here in the himalayas! this morning was spent walking around Shimla town and chatting to locals... about culture and religion! met Hindu school kids (who thought we were celebrities). an Austrian couple who are into Budism now, and a Christian (who was raised in one of the orphanages here!)! We are so priviledged to know the Lord!* Keep praying :) Blessings

The beautiful French architecture of Tunis. Tunis, complete with street cafes and baguettes and a metro system, feels more like Paris than even Paris itself! The Medina (or Old City) is one of the best places to get lost in... This was the front door of the place where we stayed. The ancient city of Carthage (Ancient Rome's greatest enemy!)... This city was at one stage called Africae by the ancient Greeks, and that's where our continent got it's name from...just some trivia. The beginning of our Luke10!!!!! This picture was taken at the fort on...
