This whole Global Challenge has been tough. I've really been struggling to fit into my team and to find my purpose. I spoke to my leader and she said a few things that was needed, but I want to tell you about two things. Fitst she said that you're value is not in your purpose, it is in who you are. Second thing is that we are not human doings, we are human beings. I am not going to elaborate on that, but think about it. Anyway, continuing. It went really bad with my emotional and spiritual state. I started...

I am currently sitting on my hostel bed in the middle of Cairo. This is the last night of my 2011 journey and I have a lot of mixed emotions. On the one hand I am so excited to go back home, not only for the familiar faces and mom’s cooking, but also to see what God would have me do in the next season of my life. On the other hand (Darren) I am saddened by the thought of having to leave the constant companionship of my team members, team mates… brothers! This year has been a rollercoaster ride...
Growing up next to the ocean, I have always been drawn to water sources: oceans, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, etc. I find the rhythmic flow of water calming and soothing. Watching the constant eb and flow of the ocean evokes the feeling of all worries and troubles being carried away. At times of great trouble I have hurled stones into the waves, watching it disappear under the foam, as a prophetic act that I give the situation over to God. I associate water with God's grace and enjoy watching my troubles be engulfed by it. Once released from my captivating trance,...
Looking back on the time in China, there is a few things that I’ve learned and that stands out for me.

That is what challenged me a lot the last few days in NZ. I always knew I had to spread the gospel (in South Africa), but the “opportunity” just never showed up at my doorstep. I was the average “Christian” boy, living from Sunday...

Nepal has been wild so far In the past week we've spent much time with the Church here. Encouraging our family in Christ. The team split up into 2 groups. 7 of us visited house fellowships everyday and attended a few different church services. Bringing the Word of God and seeing people set free! Experiencing the Lord's favor. While the other 4 hiked 8 hours up a mountain to the village of Chepang. There they also attended church service and prayed and encouraged the new believers! Witnessing the Splendor of God and His Creation. Being touched by the humility and...

(continued from A dream guides us ) In Kaffrine the World Vision guys dropped us of at the Catholic Mission saying we could try there for a place to sleep. I'm not a big fan of the Catholic Church, but one thing is sure, they have lots of infrastructure across the continent and they are usually very helpful. During my road accident a year earlier we ended up at a Roman Catholic hospital, in Marrakesh they spoiled us with a meal, in St. Louis we got free accommodation and now once again in Kaffrine they gave us a...
