A short testimony of what God is doing in my life, here in India…

A short testimony of what God is doing in my life, here in India…
We are serving at an orphanage in India at the moment. We are teaching the children, and also repainting their school. But while we are serving them, God is building into our own life’s… To each new country I go to, I go with a certain expectation or goal. Not a set plan, or a task driven schedule, but in the quit times that I sit with God. I ask Him for certain things to happen in the different counties we visit. My expectation or goal for India is to give myself unconditionally in any and in all ways. To...

Niamey - Niger

Sitting on the back of the Hilux pick up (bakkie -afrikaans) I am often wondering why am I in this godforsaken desert? Where day time temperatures hit 40 degrees Celsius, and in the night it cools down to 27, maybe 26 degrees Celsius (we were told that the hottest period lies still ahead in April and May). And the fine dust just choke the life out of you.  Just to have the Lord answering me " I am busy in this desert" I was challenged by the Lord to focus on what He is doing in this country: • Providing...

Jabulani Africa

"Someone asked will the heathen who have never heard the Gospel be saved?" "Its more a question with me whether we -- who have the Gospel and fail to give it  to those who have not -- can be saved." Charles Spurgeon   If there is something I can take out of our Africa journey, it would be Gods heart regarding the great commission. The whole of heavens army and all the witnesses are eagerly awaiting on the completion of our mission. The whole time here it felt as if we were being cheered on to complete the race, walking in...

Meet the best students EVER!!

This time in Hat Yai has been such a blessing! I had the most amazing students, and love each one of them dearly!

These crazy kids I had each morning, challenging my creativity to levels I never thought it could reach!! The teacher definitely had lots more fun than the kids!

Gutt (7), Gett (8), Will (13), We (9) and Teacher Elizma!

A blessing but depressing - N.Z vs S.A

A blessing but depressing - N.Z vs S.A
Wow, what a blessing I had few weeks ago when six lucky Global Challenges went to join a ministry called Stormco. We had a super road trip as we travelled from Auckland to Wellington. We passed an awesome place called Routarou, where the place constantly stinks because of the natural springs. However we were fortunate to meet up with friends who stay there and they treated us to some great Pizza and a place to stay for the evening. The next morning we went to an extraordinary place called the secret place. So unfortunately I can't tell you anything more. Jokes....

Orange team in New Zealand

It's been quite a while since we've experienced Western culture, yet it was a refreshing break to spend almost 3 weeks in New Zealand. The first week was set aside to processing what happened in India and have a few days of holiday. During this time we stayed in Algies Bay, just outside of Auckland. Thereafter the team was split up. A group of 6 went to Wellington while those remaining were hosted by various South Africans in Auckland. The Orange team were privileged to stay in Auckland. Here we attended various church services, testifying about God's working in,...

Luke 10 -Day 6

Normal 0 We arrived at 8:00 in Oaxaca, very tired and hungry.   We prayed together and split up (some went to look for the cheapest bus tickets to Mexico City, while the rest had to stay with the luggage).   The cheapest bus was at the bus station at the other end of the city and left at 23:00.   We traveled to the other bus station and spent our day waiting in one of their waiting rooms.   Some tried sleeping on the chairs, while others got out their mattresses and tried to make themselves comfortable on the...

DIE BERG!! :-)

To my English friends, Im sorry for the Afrikaans, let me know how interested you are and then I will translate...

Week two: Stil awesome!

Week two: Stil awesome!
More than two weeks into this amazing year we are stil realizing more and more what this year is really about, and it increases our excitement! This week we had the privelage to get a taste of what is to come when we started working at a local primary school! We did what was necesary to get the job done! We also had some amazing experiences and awesome views! We just had to hang on to everything we had to prevent it from getting blown away, even ourselves at times! On Friday one of my new sisters selebrated her birthday...

The start?

The start?
As I write this blog, time is most definitely flying by. There is just over a day before I head away from home and on towards the start of this expedition. It is exciting to think that it really is time to pack up all the stuff I need into my one bag and say the last goodbyes! I had given most thought to this journey starting when I actually left NZ, but have realised that it really started a while back. God has already been teaching and challenging me, especially in trusting first in him! Rather than trying...
